Malaysian Dreamboy Results

Remember I've put up a Nuffnang Poll asking you to vote for your Malaysian Dreamboy? The canditates are yours truly, KY, Boss Stewie, Jason Goh, and Kenny Sia. Here's the result.

Simon Seow & Jason Goh tied in the last place :(

Not ying meh me? Why don't choose me. Sigh.

2nd Runner-up is non other than KY.

At least he knows how to find good food to eat when bringing you out.

What surprised me though is that the winner is not Kenny Sia, he only made it to 1st Runner-up.

So popular and sporty also cannot make it to be Malaysian Dreamboy.

As you been reading until now, you've guessed who is the winner. Yes, non other than Nuffnang's Co-founder, Timothy Tiah.

I wonder why people vote a grown man that is still sleeping with his little bolster to be a Malaysian Dreamboy. Sigh. -________-

The Results

Notes: This is just a poll I ran in my blog, there's no Malaysian Dreamboy contest yet.

Having Japanese Food in a Deli

On Labour Day, Chimp asked me out for Japanese food with 2 of her friends. We'll be meeting up at our usual yum cha place, Le Deli in Mont Kiara.

You may have noticed something wrong here, do they serve Japanese food in Le Deli? Le Deli only sells fine cut meat like German sausage, bacon, ham and cheese. Well, one specialty about Le Deli is that you can order food from restaurant in the proximity such as Ramen Taiko just inside the shoplex in Mont Kiara, which is only opposite Le Deli from the entrance inside.

Chimp posing with the ramen.

Me and my buddy Chimp.

Chimp ordered her favourite ramen, Hiyashi Chuka Ramen (RM 13)

I tasted a bit of it and found that it's not too bad. Chimp found the gravy a bit too sourish but it's ok by my standard.

Rating: 3/5

Fried Kaki set (Fried Oyster set) (RM 22)

I had the seasonal set promotion, the Fried Kaki set. Which comes with rice, shoyu soup, pickled vege, fruit and of course fried oyster in bread crumbs. Instead of your normal miso soup, they serve wakame shoyu soup (seaweed Japanese soya sauce soup) instead, the soup is nice me and Chimp like it. The fried oyster is so fresh, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Slurp, slurp. Wished they give more oyster, can't have enough of it.

Rating: 4/5

Fried kaki.

No this is not my peach wine.

The damage

When you come around this area, you can sit at Le Deli and order drinks from them and order some Japanese food from Ramen Taiko. It's much more comfortable sitting at Le Deli because it's open air.

How I Learned To Drive

When I was studying American Degree Program in Taylors, there's a subject call "Music Appreciation" and part of the assignment were to go and watch two live performances and write a report on it. For live performances those day, there's only Five Arts Center and Actors Studio.

Me and my course mate went to a gamelan performance organized by Five Arts and then a live performance by a independent singer which name I've forgotten which was organized by Actors Studio. It's been a long time I haven't been to local performance or theater. By chance I got to know about a play that will be showing soon from Aronil.

I was born in the year of the sheep but sheep is not a wild animal, so I chose to draw sheep's best friend in the 12 animal zodiac, the horse. I always like horse, horse racing is one of my favourite pastime, just kidding. I like horse when it is drawn using Chinese calligraphy. It is so magnificent and the horse seems to be full of energy and can comes to life anytime.

Oops, that's a zebra, not a horse :p

No, that is just an example of why I like horse drawn in Chinese calligraphy style. The one below is my entry to the contest. Oh, I'm so proud of my drawing.

Got another VIP pass from David Lian for Kate but all bloggers went home already, so we just took some pictures and left.

By the way, Alaling will be performing with Superbar at Groove Junction, Sri Hartamas on the 29th of May 2008, 9.30 p.m. If you like to see her performing live, come and support her. I'll be going with Justin.

8 Habits Meme

Liane tagged me -_-, with 8 Habits Meme so here it goes.

Here are the rules:
1. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.
3. At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people and include their names.
4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment on their blog and tell them they’ve been tagged, and to come back and read your blog for the whole story.

Here are my 8 habits;

1) I don't like my plans to be disrupted. If I planned to be at a certain place at a certain time and when someone disrupt my plan, I'll be very very agitated.

2) I can read Chinese but I can't write Chinese. I don't go to Chinese Ed school, I think I learned it from reading manga translated into Chinese and later moving on to Chinese novel.

3) I'm hooked on Hong Kong TVB drama series. I bought about more than than HKTVB series already. Will continue to buy new series.

4) I like to find good food to eat and blog about it.

5) I drink a lot of water. I think I drink more than 8 glasses of water a day usually.

6) I don't have Internet access at home. I usually update my blog in the office or in cyber cafe.

7) I have a bad back, and I yoga once a week to relief the stress on my back. It works well for me.

8) I go to facial saloon to do facial once every month.

Sorry, I don't think I want to tag another 8 bloggers because I know the Karma will return to be of being tagged. If you want to do this tag you can do it. ;)

Boss Ming Bring Me On A Tour of Nuffnang SG Offices

Simon's Short Note: Welcome Rachel to be a Nuffnanger.

Some of you may have already guess it. Yes, behind the old blue door is Nuffnang SG office but the front is the site office that belongs to a construction company that is building a building opposite. You have to push the door and go to the back office. There is where Nuffnang SG make shift office will be until their permanent office is completed. Which is an apartment lot or a shop lot in the building opposite.

At first I thought they have shifted office because there's no one in the front office. Holly then gave me Boss Ming's no. Gave him a call, and confirmed that that is the right address.

Nuffnang banner with loads of signature

I smuggled brought Ming and Cherie a small souvenir from Malaysia

Ming so happy getting the merchandise

ManU fans, please be envy because Ming is in Russia now

Although the office is a bit small, but there's only 3 person working here anyway. Unlike Nuffnang KL and Penang which are most of the operation being run. It's more cost effective to hire people in Malaysia rather than in Singapore. Any smart entrepreneur will take this decision. Eventhough small, the place is cozy and homey. There are also a lot of interesting junk toys in the office. The merchandises are from Ming's other business venture.

Some of the items on the rack

Ming is so nice that he postponed his appointment an hour late so that he can show me around the office. You will be thinking, cheh, office so small can see all at a glance lor. Ah, this is where you guys are wrong, the current office is just temporary, Ming is going to show me the future Nuffnang SG office which is still under construction.

The future Nuffnang SG office, wah so tall. Ok la, not the whole building la. Ming told me it might be a shop lot at ground floor or an apartment on the upper floor, whichever is more affordable. It's a SOHO kind of building btw.

Safety first. Camwhoring with helmet and Cherie.

Me and Boss Ming. I think my head is too big for the helmet.

The old Nuffnang SG viewed from the new site.

Boss Ming deciding where to put the 42" LCD TV to watch porn.

There will be a swimming pool on the roof top, start to envy Nuffnang SG's staff.

You can view Orchard Road from here. I want to work here too :p

Align Center
The SOHO apartment next to it. Might look something like this after completion.

Even have elevated parking. Parking don't come cheap in Singapore.

A heart shape stress ball. A souvenir from Nuffnang.

You too can get this from Nuffnang. Just post a post writing how handsome Boss Stewie or Boss Ming is and send email to cofoundersofnuffnangaresohandsome@nuffnang.com.

Thanks Ming and Cherie for showing me around. Yes, Nicholas, Cherie thinks I'm good looking :p
The new office might be operational around July or August, might go there and visit again then. I'll even bring my swimming trunks :p
Today, I'll drop by Nuffnang KL for a visit.
