Pick n' Brew @ Glenmarie, Shah Alam

On Thursday, I'm off shift so I stole borrowed MyFriend'sGF (she's the only one I could find not working on weekdays and are able to go out) from my friend to go to Pick n' Brew to try the food and coffee there for the first time. Always wanted to go after I read bout this cafe here, here, here and here.

At first I nearly got lost on the way but luckyly Pick n' Brew put the banner on the road to show me direction to reach there. It is actually in CNI Building in Glenmarie, Shah Alam. You'll be surprise that you can actually find a cafe like this one in the middle of all the warehouses and factories in this famous industrial area.

At last we've reach our destination

Without further ado, I started to snap photos of the environment using MyFriend'sGF's Nokia N78 because my cousin have to use her camera so I can't borrow it -_-.

The inside

The ouside

The coffee maker?

Of course, you pick n they brew

Ah, I can see the apple crumbles on the left

Having just woke up and haven't eat anything, I ordered a Moussaka, and a cup of their famous Grafitti Latte (too bad I can't draw my own latte art). MyFriend'sGF ordered Lasagne and Iced Caffe Mocha, she's not a coffee person whilst ordering coffee in cold. Last but not least, Apple Crumbles for dessert. You must read ^^LivingInFoodHeaven^^ to appreciate the story behind the Apple Crumbles.

My Grafitti Latte

Let's take a closer look

I must say that the coffee here taste good, even MyFriend'sGF says that her Iced Caffe Mocha taste as good as Coffee Bean's.

My Moussaka

Lasagne

Moussaka is actually baked brinjal and minced mutton with Cheese. The minced mutton taste very good and you don't find the 'soh mei' (some kind of smell that I don't know how to describe here that you always find on mutton or beef if not properly prepared) on it. Eating it with the garlic bread given, yummy. If more cheese is put on this, it'll be perfect.

Rating: 3.5/5

MyFriend'sGF complained why her Lasagne don't come with any bread, thus we ask the waiter to give us two pieces garlic bread. She says the cheese on her Lasagne is not cooked enough, she likes it to have a bit of brownish burned colour on it. Rating given by her.
Rating: 2/5

Next up, the apple crumbles.

Sweet ;), I meant the apple crumbles

We shared the apple crumbles, maybe it's just us, we found it a bit too sweet maybe a bit over dose of sugar icing on the crumbles. If the quantity of the cheese can be more than it'll be perfect. But if there's more cheese, then I don't think we'll be able to get this at RM 7 a piece already.

Rating: 2.5/5

Obligatory photo of handsome me.

I look fat, have to go on diet already

Jackson from ^^LivingInFoodHeaven^^ happens to be there too after we finished our apple crumbles. He's the Head of Operation for Infuso.Inc, the company that manages Pick n' Brew. He told me the reason because the coffee here taste so nice is because the coffee beans are freshly brew at the back of the cafe in CNI's factory. He recommended Mocha by the Pot for coffee lover.

A good news from him is that Pick n' Brew will be opening a second outlet in 1 Utama at 30th of March 2008. For those of you that is not familiar with the road in Glenmarie, Shah Alam can go over to 1 Utama to drink a cup of good coffee. A third outlet will be open in Sepang Gold Coast soon after that.

There are still many food in the menu that I've yet to try. So, be sure that there will be second, third, fourth and more trip for me. Maybe the next trip I'll go to the new outlet in 1 Utama :P

Map borrowed from Teckie:

Address is the exact same word from Teckie:

evolna: Yupe, another food post. Don't have anything else to blog at the moment. I still haven't finish with my Singapore trip though.

You should try the KFC here, I heard it's one of the best in the world although I seldom eat KFC.

aronil: Haven't try the other pastries, should be not bad. Ya, this is cool place, cozy and quiet. Not to mention quite secluded.

This is a homegrown brand by Infuso. They do planned to franchise it out when they open a few more outlets. It might be because you read it in some other food blog so it's sound familiar to you.
