Chili's @ 1 Utama New Wing

Still haven't upload my photos from my recent Singapore trip. So, will post my second food post. Had dinner with a friend in Chili's, 1 Utama New Wing about 2 weeks ago after getting a glimpse at Jay Chou.

There's only two of us and the portion in Chili's is famous to be large, so didn't really order many food that night.

I had the soup of the day in cup. It's between Chicken Soup or Brocolli in Cheese. Give me Brocolli in Cheese any day. I was quite hungry after 5 hours of standing in the event that I forgot to take picture of the soup. I finished the soup in less than 5 minutes. As, you know in Chillies, the soup is more to the thick type than those diluted type of soup. You can even say you're eating porridge rather than drinking soup. The Brocolli in Cheese comes with rich taste of cheese and quite filling too even in cup size.

Next up, are the mains. Usually I'll order NY Stripped Steak but that night I don't feel like having beef, so I ordered their new item. Lamb Shank. It came with some kind of brown sauce that I happily pour over the Lamb Shank, which was a mistake I regretted. The sauce is very salty and the lamb shank itself already got some saltiness in it. Not only that, the sauteed vegetables that comes as side dishes were also overly salty. The only good thing is the lamb shank is nice and tender. Thank god, the Chillies mashed potatoes saves the day. In my personal opinion, I'll stick back with NY Stripped Steak.

My friend had their Chicken Fettucine. She let me had a few pieces of chicken and fettucine. I found that the chicken is a bit too dry and the fettucine is a bit on the bland side. She says it's ok for her. Maybe I am just too fussy about food.

So, I thought the whole dinner will end in disappointment with the mains seems to be off the normal quality that you get from Chili's. Little did I know that, the gem of the night lies in the dessert. We shared the Brownies Sundae. Both the brownies and ice-cream blended very well together, not overly sweet. I don't like food that is too sweet. Best of all, inside the brownies is filled with walnuts. I am nuts about walnuts (no pun intended). Every bite I took I can taste the walnuts, yum yum. My friend ate the cherry at the top and told me it has no taste at all. Well, it can't be all too perfect. I'll recommend this dessert if you eat at Chili's.

We devoured the delicious Brownies Sundae

So, that ends the dinner in Chili's 1 Utama. Will surely come back to try other dishes. A friend of mine thinks that TGIF's steak is better but I think it depends on what steak you order. Jack Daniel's steak is good in TGIF but NY Stripped Steak also not bad in Chili's. What's your Chili's experience?
