I Love to Touch My LG GW525 Because It Tickles

I never use a touch screen mobile phone before until I got my LG GW525 phone, which is a touch screen and also a 3G phone. I like the fact that there's a slight vibration (which kind of ticklish) when I touch the screen that's giving me a feedback that I actually touch it correctly.

While the LG GW525 comes with a slide out QWERTY keypad, I think I seldom need to use it. I only use it when I have to write text and Tweet. A nice thing about touch screen is that it will minimize the need of scrolling in order to go to a function or launch an application or a game. Just look for the icon and touch, no more scroll, scroll, scroll....

LG will be lauchning the brand new LG Cookie series, LG Cookie 3G, LG Cookie Plus and LG Cookie Fresh. Some new improvement has been added to them. Since, I am already very familiar with the LG touch screen interface, I'll be considering the LG Cookie series first when I want to change mobile phone. Also, the LG Cookie 3G has WiFi connection while my LG GW525 don't have T_T

Oh, there will be a launching party called LG Cookie Monster Party happening on 24th July 2010 at Neutral Club, Jln P. Ramlee. Want to see for yourself the LG Cookies and have fun dressed up as a monster? Click here to find out how you can get invited. ;)

Bearmany In The Quarter-final

Great performance and skill put on by Bearmany on the round of 16 knock out stage. Right timed passes that created goals and chances in front of Englbear's goal. Miroslav KLOSE scored the first goal (this is his 12th goal in World Cup finals, which put him on par with Pele for 4th on the all time list). Just 12 minutes after the 1st goal, Lukas PODOLSKI scored the leading goal. Bearmany broke the Englbear's defence with passes that beat their offside trap.

Picture from FIFA.com

At 37th minute Matt UPSON scored Englbear's only goal when Lampard did a short corner and Gerrard helped perfected it with a cross to the penalty area where Upson put in the ball with a header. It was like 1966 again (only this time it works the other way around) when the goal the put in by Lampard was denied by the referee. I really pity Englbear because from the video playback I clearly see that the ball had crossed the goalpost. Too bad FIFA doesn't acknowledge video technology to clear dispute. What they plan is to add two more line referee in Brazil World Cup 2014.

The 1st half ended with Bearmany leading 2-1. Englbear started the 2nd half quite strong but alas it's still not enough to make an equalizer. At 67th minute, Bearmany's ticket to the quarter-final is as good as stamped when Thomas MUELLER put in Bearmany's 3rd goal. Just 3 minutes after that the 4th goal was scored again by Mueller almost the same way as the 3rd goal. This ends Englbear's road to the quarter-final. Great job Bearmany.

Now you can download the coolest football online memorabilia such as desktop wallpapers, ring tones, online games desktop application, challenge your paper folding capabilities at www.celcom.com.my/vs. While at it, you can also collect the limited edition Celcom Blue Bear (especially Englbear so that you can keep them in memory now that they're out) and the possibility of also taking home RM10,000 daily.

My Lunch: Thai Stall in Restoran Jackson, Section 17, Petaling Jaya

There is one Thai stall that sells quite authentic Thai small fry in Restoran Jackson in Section 17, Petaling Jaya. There's a variety of fried rice that you can order from such as Thai fried rice, prawn fried rice, pineapple fried rice and etc. I suspect that the owner of this stall was once working for the Thai fried rice stall in Restoran Say Huat just opposite Restoran Jackson. I think that's why the quality of the Thai fried rice stall in Say Huat dropped.

The Thai stall in Jackson not only sells fried rice but also have a few Thai dishes like Thai style stir-fried pork rice, chicken feet mango salad, prawn mango salad, stir-fried petai with prawn rice, and a few more dishes that I don't remember.

Chicken feet mango salad.

The chicken feet mango salad is very nice. Just the right sourness. My favourite except for the fried rice is the Thai style stir-fried pork rice. The pork is stir-fried with a lot of Thai basil which make the dish very aromatic and appetizing.

Thai style Stir-fried pork rice.

I've try the stir-fried petai sotong rice which is very good too. This place is a good choice for a more affordable Thai affair is there's craving. Too bad I only come here on Sunday when I am working morning shift.

Thai stir-fried petai sotong rice.

Maybe next time I come here I'll try something different. Do give it a try if you want to try affordable authentic Thai style small fry dishes.

My Lunch: Robert Fried Kueh Tiow, Section 17, Petaling Jaya

First of My Lunch series. This is short food post of the food that I eat during lunch time while I am working. As I work in the IT services industry and have to do swing shift, so sometime my lunch will also meant my supper. Also because this is my daily normal makan session so I don't bring out my digital camera, so most of the pictures in this series will be taken from my LG GW525's 3.0 Megapixel phone camera. Quality of the pictures is of course lower than my usual food post.

Okay. It was a Sunday afternoon (yes, my shift starts on Sunday instead of Monday, so there's no Monday's blue for me on the bright side), and it's time for lunch. On Sunday, as usual I'll drive to Section 17, Petaling Jaya for food. Section 17 is like a little food heaven with variety of nice foods. That day, I suddenly have a craving for Char Kueh Tiow.

No worries because one of the best Char Kueh Tiow in Klang Valley is at Restoran Say Huat. Robert's Char Kueh Tiow has been operating for a very long time in Klang Valley. Fried with enough "wok hei" the flat rice noodle is fried till dry which is more towards Penang style unlike the KL wet version. Using mid size prawn, which is quite fresh too. The prawn is bigger than other CKT stalls that I've patronned before but still no match of the huge prawn used in Lorong Selamat's CKT. Well, Lorong Selamat one cost me RM 6 while Robert's cost me RM 4.50 for a big portion.

There are the usual kao choi, taugeh, and blood cockles. There's also Chinese sausage, which most CKT in KL don't use. The taste is just like Penang but still lack a bit of thing that I can't really make out of. Nevertheless it's one of the best CKT that I've tasted in Klang Valley. Be in mind that the portion here is quite big, so for small eater it's better to order a small portion (RM 4) and share :p. Big eater order a plate of big size (RM 4.50) will do.

Karl's Beisl, SohoKL, Solaris, Mont Kiara

Warning: Tidak Ditanggung Halal

A few months ago. Yes, this happened about 4 months ago. Nicole reminded me that I still haven't fulfill my promise of buying her lunch after our group won the Project Trafford blogging contest. So, getting her for lunch in her busy schedule traveling all over the region is quite difficult. Lucky, she's free on that particular day. At first I planned to eat at Dubrovnik but they were closed (maybe it's their lunch break), we only reached SohoKL around 2.30 pm. I recommended Karl's Beisl, which serves Austrian cuisine.

We shared a soup because Nicole is not a big eater. We both love this Cream of roasted Garlic & Red Pepper with Rosemary (RM 15). Creamy yet not too jelak. The garlic taste is quite rich, which I like. Recommended soup for you soup lover out there. Oh, their complimentary bread is very nice too.

Cream of roasted Garlic & Red Pepper with Rosemary (RM 15)

Nicole ordered Pork Tenderloin with Wild Mushroom Sauce (might not be the right name because I forgot already :p). She can't finish the whole thing, so I have to help to eat. Not too bad, the sauce is very nice and the pork tenderloin is very tender. I can finish half of it even after I had my Pork Cordon Bleu.

My Pork Cordon Bleu is not too bad either. Just a little bit dry on the meat. We like the sides, especially the potato wedges. The cucumber salad is nice too.

There's ham and cheese inside the roll pork meat. Very typical Cordo Bleu style.

They have a wide range of red and white wine here to choose from. We of course drank only plain water lol.

Nicole posing with a bottle of Chilean wine, I think.

On another day, I went for dinner at Karl's Beisl before I go to watch Chelsea vs Manchester United in 3D. It was a Samsung 3D LED TV event happening at SohoKL. Craving for half a pint of Hoegaarden White so I chose Karl's Beisl. There's a few European beer available.

This time I ordered Double Pork Chop, one of the more expensive item from the menu. You get to choose two side dishes for free. You can have more than two with additional charge and each side has a different price. I chose stir-fried broccoli with pine nuts and sauteed wild mushrooms.

A balance of meat and lard. Superb.

One bite into the tender pork chop, and I was certain that it's one of the best pork chop I ever had. The pork chop was char-grilled and there's a slightly burnt aroma left on the pork chop which enhanced the meat juice and fat. I like the fact that the cut is not only meat alone which will make the chop a bit too dry, there's like a 30% fat too. This is the cut that I like.

The sides are very nice too. I like the broccoli and pine nuts very much. I found the sauteed wild mushroom a bit too salty, if not it will be perfect. I of course down my dinner with the Hoegaarden White.

To watch the Samsung 3D LED TV, you'll need the special Samsung 3D glasses, which is not cheap.

Can't see any 3D here. lol.

Without the 3D glasses you'll see shadow image.

Sir Alex Ferguson in 3D yo!

All of you know that Chelsea won the match in Old Trafford. Ironically, Samsung is main sponsor of Chelsea, so most of the people there are happy.

Bearmany Flip Flop

Bearmany won Australia on their first match in South Africa World Cup 2010. Such a superb performance put up by them beating Australia 4-0, so the absence of Michael Ballack didn't really affect Bearmany at all. Looks like Joachim Loew has done a good job in coaching them. So mostly likely Bearmany will come out as top of Group D, seeing how Ghana and Serbia (quite boring) played as compared to how Englbear and USA (fast paced attack) played.

Alas, it was almost the exact opposite on the second match of Group D when Bearmany was beaten by Serbia 1-0. Not only that Miroslav Klose got a red card (which means he'll have to miss the next two matches too) the one good chance for Bearmany to score an equalizer on the penalty was denied by Serbia goalkeeper, Vladimir STOJKOVIC. The next match against Ghana is very important for Bearmany. They must win the match in order to qualify for the 2nd round of the World Cup. I hope they will get back their rhythms even with Klose out of the match.

Speaking of football, do you know that you can download the coolest football online memorabilia such as desktop wallpapers, ring tones, online games desktop application, challenge your paper folding capabilities at www.celcom.com.my/vs. While at it, you can also collect the limited edition Celcom Blue Bear and the possibility of also taking home RM10,000 daily.

Okay, that's all for now, I got to read up on Bearmany's preparation on the next match against Ghana. By the way, do you know that you can get the matches scheduled from Fifa.com and if there's a live match, you can click on the green 'Live' button to watch the live feed?

My Mind is the Scene of the Crime

What's most valueble secret that's in my mind that I don't want it to be stolen. It's the passwords to all the logins to my email, online banking, Facebook, Twitter, Plurk, Nuffnang, and Churp Churp accounts of course.

Living in the current time where online transaction, social networking and emailing is a very important part of my daily life. If my password for email got stolen, then I'll have a hard time checking important emails and have to go through all the troubles to either get back the email account or create a new one and then change all the email in other online accounts.

It will be the same as for other online services, especially those that deals with monetary transaction like online banking and PayPal. Also indirect monetary like Nuffnang, Adsense and Churp Churp, which I do earn some side income from.

So in short, I will rather have my physical money stolen rather than my online accounts' password got stolen. Yes, I am too attached to the online world to turn back now.

By the way, there is a new movie coming up about a very skilled thief, starring Leonardo DiCarpio. Inception will be premiering on 15th of July 2010 in Malaysia. For those that want to watch it before the premiere, you might want to check out Nuffnang's Blog to find out how.

Jolin Tsai (蔡依林) and Jay Chou (周杰伦) 复合 Back Together?

Double J which means Jolin Tsai 蔡依林 and Jay Chou 周杰伦. It's been 6 years after they broke up that they've never been seen together performing or going on the same stage or TV program. Just recently, Jolin is the mystery special guest performing at Jay Chou's Taipei Concert 2010.

So many fans will be asking, are they back together (雙J复合) again after so many years? So if they are really back together again, will the fans of both support or against it? Well, whether they support or against it, I don't think they will care if they really are together again. I wonder what will the die hard fan of Jay Chou think of it. LOL.

Jolin Tsai and Jay Chou performing at the latter's concert in Little Dome, Taipei.

Watch the videos of them performing in the concert:

If you are a fan of Jolin 蔡依林 or Jay 周杰伦 will you be supporting this relationship or against it? As for me, I think it's good for them. They are both so successful in the music industry and also King (天王) & Queen (天后) of music in Taiwan. Quite match mah. Well, it's still too far to say whether they are back together again or not. So let's see if the papparazi has more juicy stuff to give us.

Commercial Break:

Sami Khedira will likely replace Michael Ballack in midfield for Bearmany in the World Cup. Well, let's hope Khedira is what as they say a hidden gem with a lot of potential. With the experienced captain of Bearmany out of the game, I hope that this new up and coming midfielder will live up to the job.

Talking about up to the game. A reader of mine is really up to the game in collecting the Celcom Blue Bear. He left a comment in two of my Celcom posts:

Guessing Game

Sigh. The Internet is acting out recently, I heard many people complaining on Twitter, Facebook and Plurk that their connection was slow. I didn't notice because I was working in the office when I read their rants. When I got home and using the Internet I "borrowed" from my neighbour, yes it is much slower than usual.

Speaking of mirco blogging tools. Please follow my Twitter for those that have Twitter account. I am on Plurk too if you do Plurk. Recently Joshua introduced me to Meibo (新浪微博) (Chinese version of Twitter + Plurk), this is my Meibo account. What's nice about Meibo is that there are a lot of Asian artists using it and I can follow many of the artists' Meibo

I followed about ninety over Asian artists in Meibo. Some are from Taiwan like Da Mouth, 大S, 小S, a few of our Malaysian artist like Fish Leong, Ah Bin and from Hong Kong like Myolie Wu 胡杏儿,G.E.M., Sammi Cheng 鄭秀文 (she's really a lot happier after she became a born-again Christian) and a lot more artists. I think following their Meibo is more fun than reading gossip news online because most gossip news are well, gossip. :p

So, I'm not in the mood to post a long post. I want to play a Guessing Game with you all, guess what is uses the the piece of thing in the picture? Sorry, no prize for guessing it right.

Sidoi Warung, Jalan Legian, Bali

While I was in Bali during my 5days/4nights trip there, I spent most of my night having dinner or a drink at Sidoi Warung. There's 3 reasons why I come here for my dinner. 1st, they serve very good and affordable Western food, 2nd is they have free Wi-Fi and last but not least, it's just a walking distance from my hotel, Legian Paradiso.

Very important for me to get Internet access.

The first time I come here, I ordered Bali Pork Chop. Omg, it's very juicy and tender. I especially like the mashed potato.

The 3rd night I only come here for a drink. Bintang Beer is my stable drink when I was in Bali.

On the 4th night, I had Avocado and Shrimp Cocktail and Chicken Breast Cordon Bleu. They are so generous with the avocados, I'm not complaining. It only cost me RP 18,900 which is about RM 6. Can't find this kind of portion and price in Malaysia.

Avocado and Shrimp Cocktail

The Chicken Breast Cordon Bleu is nice but nothing to shout about. Satisfying meal.

Hong Kee (洪记糖水) Dessert Stall at Section 17

One fine Sunday afternoon, where I have to work the morning shift. So, in the afternoon about 5pm , time to get something to filled up my stomach. 5pm is kind of a hard time for food because it's not lunch, it's not tea time and it's not dinner time.

Good thing is that I know that there's some food stalls in Section 17 will be opening for business around 4.30 pm. There's a dessert stall there named Hong Kee (洪记糖水) Dessert Stall that sells a lot of variety of dessert that is very yummy. Some of the dessert there are quite hard to find else where because not many other dessert places serve it.

As the day is very hot and humid, so I ordered a bowl of watermelon soup cool my body. While this sweet soup has cooling effect but it is served warm lol. Not many places I see do watermelon in this way. I like it very much, it's not very sweet and the watermelon meat is still quite crunchy.

Watermelon sweet soup.

I also had chee cheong fun from the stall next to this dessert stall. There are a lot of other food stalls around here. I think their food is not bad because they've been around for a long time already. At first I ask for curry to go with my chee cheong fun but alas it's not ready yet, so sweet sauce and chili sauce it is. Chee cheong fun is not too bad.

Chee cheong fun.

One small stall but a lot of different sweet soup. You name it they got it. Sometime I think a bowl of simple sweet soup is enough to win over all those fancy dessert with many other items mixed together. There's papaya sweet soup, the common red bean, sea coconut, watermelon and many others that I can't even name.

Craving for sweet soup? No problem, Hong Kee will surely have one that will suit your appetite. One can also order curry mee, pan mee, pork mee, hakka mee and whatever food there is from the stalls near Hong Kee. Best of all is that the sweet soup is not too sweet.

May 2010 Hennessy Artistry at Zouk KL

It's another Hennessy Artistry event in year 2010. This time it's happening in Zouk Room at Zouk KL. I still remember that my first Hennessy Artistry was here at Zouk KL too, which was two years ago. Zouk haven't done the new renovation then. How time flies.

I reached there quite early about 7.30 p.m. because I have to go to the meet and greet (actually going there for free Hennessy mix and finger food :p). We were ushered to the bistro at Zouk KL.

Of course there are free flowing of Hennessy Mix. They were serving Hennessy Cranberries and Hennessy Apple. There's also finger food (I haven't have dinner yet) like egg sandwiches, meat balls, smoked salmon, and quiche.

Hung around there enjoying food and Hennessy with some of the bloggers.

Now only I notice Samantha is wearing coloured cons.

More and more peeps that I know come as time passes by.

Seraph.

SJ and long time no see Randy.

Wen Pink's one piece is so nice.

There are also a few games that Hennessy organized for the guests there. The winner walked away with bottle of Hennessy I think. There's this DJ music spinning game and a light painting game.

Wen Pink show off her skill too.

See how they fare.
