No matter what they do, the person they like won't take notice. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Using a kind of mixed voice to sing this song, Gigi said that it is a new approach for her and she was not satisfied with her performance during recording. Such a perfectionist. She said that she hopes that she will do better when doing live performances of this song.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">This is of a more band sound and a bit of Country influence. Gigi handled the transition of chest voice to falsetto nicely. I especially like the Bridge and the ad hoc at the end. This song might not be a song that hit you when you first hear it but after looping it a few times it will gets more and more hook on you.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: red;">Seow Listened: 9/10</span></div>Simon Seowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04114322470329271880noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4039890664501593060.post-75703285134021568232023-10-23T16:41:00.003+08:002023-10-23T16:41:17.037+08:00Windy 詹天文 - 《大雕刻家 The Great Sculptor》<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/RA7tuJpPEGc?si=AUXSYKnbhq_nAucw" width="480"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">《大雕刻家 The Great Sculptor》, the second single from Windy Zhan is very different from her debut single 《沒有你的新學期》. This new song is more towards KPOP dance genre and it can be seen in the MV that Windy has a dance choreographed for this song.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">This song is about when a human from being born till they grow up, many input and opinions sculpted by their parents, teachers, friends and etc. But the great sculptor should be themselves. Arie Lui. This is the second song after Little Magic from the same composer. This time the genre is R&B.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">The MV is off the Gothic theme is something dark that Gigi have not done before. The melody of the chorus it very catchy that the tune will be looping in your head in no time. I personally love the bridge part which showcases Gigi's Legato. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Fun fact is that this song was sang live during Gigi Yim's Gi-FORCE concert on 7th October 20233 before the song was released to digital platforms on the 9th.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: red;">Seow Listened: 9/10</span></div>Simon Seowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04114322470329271880noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4039890664501593060.post-83775693070598612762023-10-06T14:34:00.005+08:002023-10-06T14:37:01.283+08:00Kaitlyn 林君蓮《Why Are You Always Looking At Me》<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/wHbOjleKYX4?si=I8N19LDbzZSmK3D0" width="480"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">This is a second song by the talented Kaitlyn Lam which not only composed the melody but wrote the lyrics too. This song is a break from her three previous songs which were more on to dance track. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">This song titled "The Next Summer Vacation" is about her daily life as student and singer. It also talks about her countdown to the high school exam in Hong Kong (DSE) that she will be facing next year in 2024.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">The song has a kind of a LoFi and chill vibe giving me a kind of easy listening feel. I like the strumming of the guitar in this song. Yumi's vocal is different from her previous three songs and the range is at her sweet spot which is mid-high. Unlike "Wanna be close to U" or "Y2k is right for me?" which very high. Not to say that she couldn't hit the high notes, it is just that the high note is not the best for her voice.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b><span style="color: red;">Seow Listened: 8/10</span></b></div>Simon Seowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04114322470329271880noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4039890664501593060.post-46895351915474653272023-06-29T17:00:00.003+08:002023-06-29T17:00:22.497+08:00Gigi 炎明熹 - Little Magic Official MV<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/norfMAwARG4" width="480"></iframe></div>Simon Seowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04114322470329271880noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4039890664501593060.post-85198495843687753532023-05-18T20:05:00.003+08:002023-05-18T20:05:24.014+08:00Venus 林沚羿《Take a break》Official Music Video<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/VWcuRZLnGQE" width="480"></iframe></div>Simon Seowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04114322470329271880noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4039890664501593060.post-41709341165511278192023-03-16T20:14:00.003+08:002023-03-16T20:14:24.179+08:00Gigi 炎明熹 - 大開眼界 Official MV<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/NyHCNKrmvII" width="480"></iframe></div>Simon Seowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04114322470329271880noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4039890664501593060.post-7040240578566939612023-03-01T00:35:00.001+08:002023-03-01T00:35:57.362+08:00Gigi炎明熹 -《今生今世》MV<iframe width="480" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/nDYUfomU2V8" frameborder="0"></iframe>Simon Seowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04114322470329271880noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4039890664501593060.post-75910900798853376572015-07-31T23:46:00.001+08:002015-07-31T23:48:49.362+08:00Hiatus! Hello blog. Yes. It's been quite some time I didn't do any new posting on this blog of mine. I have been lazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.<br />
<br />
If you miss the food post I wrote, well I do update #foodporn pic frequently on my Instagram. So, click and follow <a href="https://instagram.com/yyseow/" target="_blank">my Instagram</a>. Click!<br />
<br />
I'll try to update this blog maybe once a month? :P<br />
<br />
Here's some photos from my trip to St. Petersburg, Russia last year.<br />
<br />
Lunch is nice in my company's factory canteen. The carb here is actually buckwheat, which is in season last year March. Thankfully it's not too cold. Just around -1 - 1 degree Celsius. I was warned by my Russian colleague that in 2012 it went as cold as -15 degree Celsius.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
I went to a restaurant specialize in pelmeni (Russian dumpling) the last night I was there. I ordered fillings with beef, chicken liver and salmon. I guessed every culture has their own kind of dumpling dish.<br />

<br />
I've never experienced snow before and I thought I could experienced it during my two weeks stay in St. Petersburg but it turned out to be one for warmest March in decade. Lucky for me on the day for me to fly back to KL, it snowed!<br />

<br />
Alright. That's all for now. I want to continue playing <a href="http://magic.wizards.com/en/content/magic-duels" target="_blank">Magic Duels</a>. Yes, I've taken up the game of Magic the Gathering again where I played briefly when I was in form 5. I promised to post more photos of my St. Petersburg trip in my next post. See ya!<br />

I only buy clothes once or twice a year and it's mainly for working attire like long sleeves shirts and slacks. There is one particular type of clothing that I buy almost every quarterly. That's because I wore this type of clothing everyday and at almost any time if the occasion is suitable.<br />
<br />
Yes. You are right. My favourite clothing that I wear everyday is <a href="http://www.zalora.com.my/men/clothing/t-shirts/" target="_blank">t-shirt</a>. I wore it when I go out for a movie, I wore it when I am meeting my friends, I wore it while working out and I wore it when I sleep too. It's convenient and comfortable.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wkOia5zqju0/U6GIitnV6sI/AAAAAAABWWM/D76qTrEHVmw/s1600/t01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wkOia5zqju0/U6GIitnV6sI/AAAAAAABWWM/D76qTrEHVmw/s1600/t01.jpg" height="226" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It's easy to match t-shirt with any other clothing. I can wear it with jeans, khakis, shorts and etc. My favourite style is t-shirt, khakis and sandals, so comfortable and yet not too sloppy. T-shirt also can comes in diffrent colours and prints. I love those t-shirt with a clever quote or picture. Also, prints of my favourite anime or cartoon character or special kind of prints that is collaborating with well known designer/artist/comic blogger.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-n3eMeIUjuLg/U6GIit1rBxI/AAAAAAABWWQ/dyVkwBe4Gdo/s1600/t02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-n3eMeIUjuLg/U6GIit1rBxI/AAAAAAABWWQ/dyVkwBe4Gdo/s1600/t02.jpg" height="400" width="252" /></a></div>
<br />
Of course, being a man, shopping is not my forte and going out to a mall to buy t-shirt is a rare occasion. Thank goodness for the invention of Internet and online shopping. Where I can browse the different kind of t-shirts without stepping a foot out of my house. Best of all, I can even compare the pricing of a few online shops to find the best deal.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0HfWSTwX0wY/U6GIijNR17I/AAAAAAABWWg/6Un5UrpANIo/s1600/t03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0HfWSTwX0wY/U6GIijNR17I/AAAAAAABWWg/6Un5UrpANIo/s1600/t03.jpg" height="400" width="241" /></a></div>
<br />
One of the online shopping site for clothing that is currently quite popular in Malaysia is Zalora. Their simple but safe procedures are definitely going to make you feel that you are having the best online retail therapy on their website. Check out their newest collection of t-shirt for men ranging from top international and local brands at cheap and affordable price!</div>

Many of us know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Just think that after sleeping for 7-8 hours or even 10-12 hours for some lucky people, we are not eating anything and our body is burning on our storage which is “stored fat”, unless you ate a very heavy meal before you go to bed. Waking up with an empty stomach with nothing to burn, our body will need something to boost our energy level in the morning.<br />
<br />
Also, skipping on breakfast is not good for people that wants to slim down because our body will slow down our metabolism and burn less calories. At lunch time you'll be eating more than usual but you will be burning less calories and worse if your body starts to stored the food as fat.<br />
<br />
Of course, some people will say that they are busy in the morning hence skipping on breakfast. Well, why not make yourself a mug of <a href="http://www.milo.com.my/breakfastday">Milo</a> that is a well balanced and nutritious breakfast filled with <b>Positive Energy</b>. Positive Energy is derived from the perfect ratio of nutrients consisting of protein, carbohydrates and fats to provide our body with the much needed fuel to take on both physical and mental challenges each day.<br />
<br />
In line with MILO®’s aim in ensuring our children develop good healthy habits for both nutrition and physical involvement, Malaysia Breakfast Day was introduced to further amplify the brand’s involvement in our children’s wholesome well-being.<br />

Well, technically it is your idea for a mobile app. Have you ever faced a scenario where you would have wished someone has written a mobile app for that? Back in the heyday before mobile phone turned smart, I always have this frustration of having a tune playing in my head but can't seems to remember what song it is. Nowadays, one can easily find out what song is that by just humming the tune to mobile app like Shazam or SoundHound.<br />
<br />
Well, there's your chance to get your frustration out of the way. If you have a problem that you'll like to have a mobile app to fix it for you then why not just have it created for you? To do this, we will have <a href="http://www.digicfc.my/">Digi - Challenge for Change</a> in the picture.<br />

OMG. I forgot about my blog's birthday. It all started way back in 27th December 2007. Sorry blog, I've not been very actively posting new post this year. Hopefully I'll get my writing engine a boost next year. Oh, well better late than never. Happy Birthday!<br />
<br />
So far, this blog has achieved more than 1.1 million of page views. Nothing to shout about if compared to other popular blogs that easily achieve this number in a month if not week. It took Simon Says 6 years, well it's quite an accomplishment for me.<br />
<br />
On a personal note, I was able to achieved my 2013 new year resolution that I've set for myself, which is to slim down. My <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triglyceride">Triglyceride level</a> came down from a dangerous level during my body checkup two years ago to normal level when I did my body check early this month. I was able to shed about 15KG worth of body fat. I started in February with a weight of 95.6KG and now maintaining at a weight of about 80KG.<br />

<br />
I've not time to create a new header yet. Maybe I'll do one in the New Year 2014. You can read about my previous blog birthday posts <a href="http://simonseow.blogspot.com/search/label/blog%20birthday">here</a>.<br />

Did you know that last week Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) hosted a Sector Focus Career Fair (SFCF) today at University Teknologi Mara (UiTM). SFCF UiTM was a joint effort between TalentCorp, Graduan, MDeC and UiTM. The focus areas for the fair were Shared Services and Outsourcing (SSO).<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="427" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gFpYoy-JtZE/Uo97vHe_-9I/AAAAAAABU-Y/0L5uCO_jt7U/s640/zxc.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
I myself am working in Shared Services and Outsourcing industry, which specialized in IT SSO. Previously I was working in Hewlett-Packard (HP), which has an IT SSO business unit. We work for HP but are supporting the IT infrastructure of our customers that outsourced part or all their IT infrastructure to HP to minimize their IT cost.<br />
<br />
Two years ago I left HP and joined JT International (JTI) as a Data Center Operation Analyst. In JTI, my department is somewhat like a shared services that supports JTI's data center infrastructure around the globe. My department doesn't only support Malaysia. The different between working is HP and JTI is that the former is serving external customers while the latter is supporting internal customers.<br />
<br />
SSO is a growing industry and there are a lot of demand. Malaysia seems to be one of the choice for Multi National Company to set up at SSO hub such as Global IT Services or Global Finance Services or Global Business Services. Yes, SSO is not limited to IT services.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="427" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-3ZLBqx6LIHg/Uo97vwU5UFI/AAAAAAABU-k/BUmTtarrqFM/s640/sfsd.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
According to Johan Mahmood Merican, CEO of TalentCorp, “The success of our Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) depends on having the right quantity and quality of talent, to support Malaysia’s priority sectors to move up the value chain and continue growing. Malaysia certainly has a strong pipeline of young talent. TalentCorp and UiTM are hosting this SFCF to provide exposure and attract our young Malaysian graduates to pursue an exciting career with the fast growing shared services sector. We certainly believe it is a win-win proposition – through a career in shared services, our young graduates will enjoy an international experience from right here in Malaysia and at the same time, our graduates can play their part in contributing to the success of the industry and Malaysia’s transformation. “<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="640" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-3d3KIS-mQc4/Uo97ws_uXUI/AAAAAAABU-s/lZrfHuVGYBM/s640/988377_392734254190727_1811966722_n.jpg" width="640" /></div>
<br />
“UiTM’s vision is to establish its reputation as a premier university of academic excellence, able to produce dynamic individuals of world-class standards and globally competitive with sound ethical standing. Here we aim to enhance the knowledge and expertise of the next generation of talents in all fields of study through professional programmes, research work and community service based on moral values and professional ethics. In this globalised world, we welcome such initiatives as this sector focused career fair as it provides our students with a solid platform to explore critical industries like SSO and to contribute towards Malaysia’s growth,” said Professor Dato’ Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Said, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs, UiTM.<br />
<br />
SFCF UiTM is supported by more than 30 companies, including AIG, DHL, Electrolux, Frost & Sullivan, GlaxoSmithKline, HP, IBM, LaFarge, Sime Darby and PwC.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="640" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-sSYBYzeXaxA/Uo97xiEDlbI/AAAAAAABU-4/YO4N8HDBXxQ/s640/1452425_393040754160077_1219450105_n.jpg" width="640" /></div>
<br />
The SFCF provides an opportunity for graduates to meet with CEOs and senior HR representatives of participating companies, while providing a platform for companies to scout for potential talent from universities in Malaysia. Several critical industries are in need of top talent, and the undergraduates are able to use this opportunity to better understand these developing sectors in Malaysia. The companies also have the opportunity to educate the public about industry developments, sectoral branding and increase understanding of the SSO sector.<br />
<br />
The two-day event included Career Talks and Couch Corner Slot. Career Talks is a platform developed for the young generation to engage with prominent industry leaders while the Couch Corner Slot was designed for the visitors, especially students, to interact with the companies in a relaxed atmosphere.<br />

There was one time colleague A asked another colleague B during lunch time, where to go for lunch? So, colleague B replied,"We are going for Plan B.". Colleague A then asked,"So where are we going for plan B? I didn't know we have a plan A". Hahaha. Colleague A didn't know Plan B is the name of the place that he's going to eat in.<br />
<br />
Joke aside. Last week, thanks to <a href="http://nuffnang.com.my/" target="_blank">Nuffnang</a>'s interest group #NNTasteBuddies, I got to taste a variety of food from Plan B that I haven't tried before. There are just so many choices in the menu. We went to have a food review session in Plan B, Bangsar Village. <a href="http://www.clevermunkey.com/" target="_blank">Henry</a>, <a href="http://www.smallnhot.com/" target="_blank">Mai Sarah</a>, <a href="http://blog.saimatkong.com/" target="_blank">Saimatkong</a> and <a href="http://jzduncan.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Jun Zheng</a> were there too.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-v-YD4icBIJo/Uo4Jx-ukLbI/AAAAAAABUsw/v3_47AEniqU/s640/DSCN9603.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
Now let's starts with the coffee. <a href="http://thebiggroup.co/planb/" target="_blank">Plan B</a> has their own blend of roasted coffee, which I found is quite nice. I had Flat White and later an Australian Iced Coffee.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-CPV5UtIl0wo/Uo4J1j9k9_I/AAAAAAABUtQ/jh_XAWfZXYI/s640/DSCN9607.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
A scoop of vanila ice-cream in the iced coffee. Nice. I don't even have to put in the syrup.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="640" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-adWBGqPxHSc/Uo4J0qxIUdI/AAAAAAABUtM/F3Kz0aYf3hk/s640/DSCN9606.JPG" width="480" /></div>
<br />
Now let's eat!<br />
<br />
Avo Quino is kind of of dish that one will order for breakfast and it's vegetarian food.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-vOWQIipF6To/Uo4J8QM8UfI/AAAAAAABUuI/i3XbO5FPOQo/s640/DSCN9614.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
Avocado and poached eggs? My kind of thing. <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-fio-ntC3ZsU/Uo4KHNsJElI/AAAAAAABUvk/duGKlOvsuYU/s640/DSCN9625.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
We were told that one of their more popular pasta dish is the Asian-Style Soft-shell crab spaghettini. This a kind of a fusion dish. Rich butter sauce covered the spaghettini and a tinge of curry leaves. Yums. Recommended to be shared if not it will be too jelak.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-LhMLuuqGgC8/Uo4J-Mp30fI/AAAAAAABUuY/X6iR7jlIfIo/s640/DSCN9616.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
Looking for pasta with more greens? Look no further. We tried the Arugula Pesto Spaghettini with seafood (please not the seafood is optional). Aroma of pine nuts from the pesto sauce is nice. Pasta is cooked al dente.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-9SnGjRj8UUQ/Uo4KACxXEQI/AAAAAAABUuo/Byvh-YWQ1LI/s640/DSCN9618.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
In between the heavy stuffs, we added something refreshing like the Som Tam Crab salad, which is green papaya salad. BIG Group's marketing people love it.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ZUmXFAZOxKk/Uo4KBFswsYI/AAAAAAABUuw/5AI5pKHVDcE/s640/DSCN9619.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
<br />
Nasi Lemak Goreng is a combination of two of our all time favourite mamak food, nasi lemak and nasi goreng kampung. I like the sourish sambal, it's so appetizing.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-5cT14zBvDEQ/Uo4KEP5LokI/AAAAAAABUvI/3lJhom-_8w0/s640/DSCN9622.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
Going for some tea time snack? One can opt for Spicy Fish Tacos. To me not very spicy at all. Fish is cooked just right. Sweet potato fries as side is something not normally found but it's the norm for Plan B.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-HxHJXtn06oA/Uo4KFG44ecI/AAAAAAABUvQ/c3bZNZVs8b0/s640/DSCN9623.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
<br />
Not a fan of fish? Why not go for the Char-Grilled Kimchi Chicken Burger? Burger is tender but I will like the kimchi to be a little bit more sourish.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="640" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-LSAfhEvRZiM/Uo4KI4a37wI/AAAAAAABUvw/mACcNEZvi4c/s640/DSCN9627.JPG" width="480" /></div>
<br />
Oh, Plan B just revamped their menu, some of the food we tried are new in the menu. They took out my favourite <a href="http://simonseow.blogspot.com/2012/03/lazy-sunday-journal-by-plan-b-publika.html">Ox Tongue Sandwich</a> :(<br />
<br />
Now the mother of all comfort food must be the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Crispy skin and the meat still juicy and tender. It's so sinfully good.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-wu13oKwC7RA/Uo4KHyQEmzI/AAAAAAABUvo/iwURp43CfRM/s640/DSCN9626.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
Now even though we are quite full already, we still make rooms for dessert. The Coconut Cake is nice.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-2x3xpUaTH08/Uo4KJ233_6I/AAAAAAABUv8/IEydwQnQnS8/s640/DSCN9628.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
But the Apple Sugee Cake is awesome! Warm apple sugee cake eaten with the cold vanilla ice-cream is da bomb. I think it will paired very well with coffee.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-67wvLvcWzPc/Uo4KK6aFwUI/AAAAAAABUwE/xefVrWF5ykQ/s640/DSCN9629.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
Plan B is really a good place to look for comfort food and a cuppa. Plan B has outlets in Bangsar Village, Mid Valley, Publika, One Utama, Paradigm Mall and Ipoh. Click <a href="http://thebiggroup.co/planb/#location" target="_blank">here</a> for the address and business hour.</div>

Officially started last Saturday on the 19th of October which was somewhat like a warm up. Today, 24th of October will be the starts of 4 consecutive days of Genting's Halloween Horror Spirits 2 which will ends on the 27th. I happened to be able to go for the warm up on 19th, which is last Saturday.<br />
<br />
Two years ago I went to Hong Kong for the Halloween themed night entry of <a href="http://simonseow.blogspot.com/2011/10/hong-kong-ocean-park-halloween-bash.html" target="_blank">Ocean Park</a> and <a href="http://simonseow.blogspot.com/2011/09/hong-kong-disneyland-halloween.html" target="_blank">Disneyland HK</a>. Which was quite an experience. This year, I didn't get a chance to go overseas so I went up to Genting Highland to try out their Halloween Horror Spirits 2.<br />
<br />
Let the journey begin.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-ZEQwVjZ4syY/UmftdlGDeyI/AAAAAAABUi4/rcJma6MsORk/s640/DSCN9409.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
Traveling to the entrance of the attraction alone is quite eery because we have to go through some dark alley.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-qhF8NVL5l30/UmftfQ8TEGI/AAAAAAABUjI/MamzQ3vmm74/s640/DSCN9413.JPG" width="640" /></div>

<br />
<br />
<b>Haunted Playground</b><br />
<br />
An abandoned playground with spirits wandering there. Take a picture with the spirits, if you dare.<br />
<br />

I wondered what will happened if I don't stay away from the swing.<br />

<br />
Passing through Old Shanghai, one will find Prison Freak. One of the two horror houses that is available. Pretty much you'll be going through a prison that has not so friendly people lockup in there. Please don't freakout if you find some of them not properly locked. Muahahaha.<br />

P.S. I am basically quite immune to the haunted houses, so the scary rating I put here is for those brave people, add 1 or 2 more points to the rating if you are a timid person :p<br />

Yes. Time flies. It's already October and it could only mean one thing. Time to party with beers! It's the time to celebrate Oktoberfest in Malaysia! What is Oktoberfest, you ask? It initially started as wedding celebration in 1810 to commemorate the union between Crown Prince Ludwig (who later became King Ludwig I) and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen at Theresienwiese (translated as Therese's meadow / field) – it is for this reason that Oktoberfest is referred to by Germans as ‘die Wiesn’ or ‘the field’. Since it started in German, then it is better to celebrate with a German beer like Paulaner. Oh, there is a special edition 1 liter Ceramic Oktoberfest Mug.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="640" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-1mxcSks0sYY/UGabY2z0LMI/AAAAAAABNLs/eSDRSFW37Lg/s640/DSCN5966.JPG" width="480" /></div>
<br />
Do you know that Paulaner was first brewed by monks from the Paulaner monastery in 1634 making it almost 380 years old – however it is still the “youngest” of the Oktoberfest Beers. Oh, Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier is not a wheat beer but instead a lager and it's a little bit stronger (6% alcohol) than the non-Oktoberfest Paulaner variant.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="480" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-pqCevsTaP0M/UGabVPXeunI/AAAAAAABMwU/TVH_g3dFxDc/s640/DSCN5963.JPG" width="640" /></div>
<br />
As with last year's Oktoberfest, GAB will be organizing themed parties across the country. If you want to grab the special edition 1 liter Ceramic Oktoberfest Mug then you must like the Oktoberfest Malaysia Facebook Page, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/OktoberfestMY">https://www.facebook.com/OktoberfestMY</a> to find out more about the locations of the GAB Oktoberfest Malaysia parties.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
It's time to celebrate Oktoberfest 2013 during this month of October and it's more fun doing it with a mug or two of Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier and remember to drink sensibly. Now, let me go and have a mug first. :P<br />

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Okay. I've never use an iOS or Android phone before. The only smartphone I've been using is my two years plus Nokia E7 which runs on Symbian, which I've upgraded to Symbian Belle. So last week I've got the opportunity to review not one but two Android phones for a week. One is the mid level <a href="http://www.ninetology.com/u9/products/x1/" target="_blank">Ninetology's U9 X1</a> priced at RM 1099 and the other is HTC One, priced at RM 2299.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img height="362" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-tHJuTEbT-24/UjCW2pPo-lI/AAAAAAABUfc/fQixjM4q9Fk/s640/IMAG0036.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="640" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Taken with HTC One</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img height="360" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-qoIeeyeVZps/UjCWq26eM1I/AAAAAAABUeE/d8FU-GVpAwU/s640/IMG_20130910_104939.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="640" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Taken with U9 X1</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
Yes. There's a huge price different between the two, how to compare? Oh, well. For an Android virgin like me it's easy. With the premium price, you'll get the aluminum body of the HTC One and a plastic one with U9 X1. Thew downside of aluminum body is weight is a bit heavier and heat transfer fast. So, it gets kind of hot when I used the HTC One for more than an hour and the heat is bearable for U9 X1. <br />
<br />
Usability wise, both are quite the same while I found that U9 X1 seems a little bit more user friendly. I like the HTC Blink Feed though. It summarizes all my social network in one page and all updates are shown. Kind of cool too.<br />
<br />
Phone camera nowadays is one of the function that people compares in a smartphone is the camera. X1 has a 13 megapixel camera while HTC One has a 2 micron ultra pixel camera which gives a 4 megapixel photos but with great sharpness and details. To me, HTC One's camera is slightly better but still U9 X1's camera is way better than my Nokia E7's all focus camera.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img height="362" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-a4ZlZcQ5srg/UjCWsz07otI/AAAAAAABUeU/YpnOPge7KrM/s640/IMAG0024.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="640" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Taken with HTC One</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img height="360" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-XO2utQTL2lE/UjCV_LlpTyI/AAAAAAABUX0/usI1YUWnAcc/s640/IMG_20130903_201807.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="640" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Taken with U9 X1</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img height="640" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-NJt4y--6bTw/UjCWi9_j-fI/AAAAAAABUc0/TDgOfjyywIc/s640/IMG_20130908_145238.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="480" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Taken with U9 X1 in low light no flash</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Both phones are quite responsive with HTC One had a bit of edge, maybe due the the processor speed different. I have not issue running Candy Crush or War of the Fallen. I even can send requests to friends in Candy Crush with little or not lagging at all.<br />
<br />
One thing the X1 lack of is the built in application, it's pretty much comes with the standard Android Jellybean default apps while HTC One has quite a few of their own apps like HTC Zoe. Oh well, for RM 1099, I found it to be a pretty decent smartphone in terms of usability. It suit my needs for Facebooking, Twittering, Instagraming, Gmaling, surfing and occasional gaming. Oh, it has dual sim cards. I can put my normal size SIM card and use but not the HTC One because only micro SIM can be used. Also, Google Play would have tons of app to download so for me built-in apps design by the phone manufacturer is just a bonus.<br />
<br />
If I am low in budget and looking for a decent Android phone, U9 X1 would be one of my choice. For the higher end phone and has the budget to splurge, well, there are a lot more choices aren't there?</div>
