THE PINNACLE OF H-ARTISTRY @ MIECC

The grand finale of the H-Artistry series this year happened early this month. Alas, I was only able to make it there at around 11pm because I need to attend the wedding dinner of my flogger friends, Christine & Chris. I made it in time to see Alexandra Burke elevating on to the stage.

I missed seeing Block B from Korea perform. I think I bumped into them in the hotel elevator earlier in the afternoon. Oh, well, friends told me I didn't miss much.

I am more interested to see another Korean group, Evol perform =P Not too bad, can dance and sing a bit. Of course there are still room for improvement.

I of course, need to get a glass of Hennessy Mix to start warming up for the next act. I asked for extra strong one.

The next act is Havana Brown. Oh, she is good with her DJ mix. She will also interact with the party revelers there too. The music she played is the kind of music I like to dance to.

Look at the crowd that night. I read that were 4000 strong of party revelers there.

Last but not least, it's Starkillers' turn to wow the crowd. Too bad he only get to wow us for 30 minutes before we end the night with a bang. I was almost KOed by that time. As, I practice to drink responsibly, I've booked a room in Mines Wellness Hotel, which is just opposite MIECC. Walking back to the hotel is no problem for me.

H-Artistry at MIECC was a night of true musical artistry, mixed with a sensational experience befitting of the amazing culmination for the H-Artistry Trilogy of 2012. H-Artistry events are by-invite-only, and are open to non-Muslims aged 18 above. Keep it locked on www.h-artistry.com.my for updates on future H-Artistry events slated for 2013.

Brief Look Through of Urbanscapes 2012

Just now I went to Urbanscapes 2012 for about an hour plus only because I have to work to be done at 5 pm. I reached at about 3 p.m. It took me a few wrong stop only to find out where is the main entrance and ticketing booths. The main entrance is near Armada Hotel. I parked at the back of Armada Hotel and there's a bridge that leads to Padang Astaka where Urbanscapes 2012 is being held.

This is the layout of Urbanscapes 2012. There are three stages. Green Stage is mostly for play and teatherical performance, The Next Stage is more on indie music, and Volkswagen Stage is the biggest stage that some of the well known singers will be performing. Yuna will be performing today at 10 pm and Sheila Majid will be performing at 7.30 pm tomorrow on Volkswagen Stage.

The rundown of activities and performance on each stage.

I started with the Volkswagen booth because it has cover, it was quite sunny while I was there.

I took part in the contest to count the number of balls inside the Polo Sedan. First prize is an iPod Touch, 2nd prize fly on a plane and view KL, and 3rd prize an iPod Shuffle.

How I wish I have enough money right now, Volkswagen is having year end sales. This Special Edition Golf TSI is selling at with a great discount, what's more this comes with premium specs like 17 inch rim, bi-xenon headlights, sunroof and etc. Previously, this specs will need to top up about RM 8K.

Next stop is of course food!

Fried stuff.

Dave's Deli serving their halal version of World's Best Sandwich, Beef Burgundy and Braised Lamb Shank.

Feeling hot? No worries, there are a lot of ice-cream booth around. Take the Last Polka for example.

Dessert stalls.

More food!

The naked chef?

My box of Soft Shell Crab Maki (RM12).

Don't forget to go the the Tune Talk booth to get yourself a free popcorn and cotton candy.

Tickets are available at the ticket booth there. I'll be coming back again tomorrow for the food and Sheila Majid of course. More info here.

McDonald's Breakfast Day

McDonald's did a street survey and found out that most Malaysian knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but about 62% of the people skipped breakfast due to various reasons. One of the most common reason is that there's not enough time because they were rushing for work or scchool.

As one of the major fast food chain in Malaysia, McDonald's decided to help encourage Malaysians to get their breakfast without the needed time to wait for long. We all know the service in McDonald's is quite fast.

So, the action to encourage more Malaysians to get their breakfast, McDonald's has declared next Monday, 19th November 2012 is McDonald's Breakfast Day. Which means, from 7am to 10am on that day the first 1000 customers could redeem an Egg McMuffin for free from selected McDonald's outlets that serves breakfast. Click here to check on a selected McD's outlet near you.

So be sure to go get yourself a free Egg McMuffin from a selected McDonald's outlet near you. You can also purchase the other McDonald's breakfast meal if an Egg McMuffin is not enough for you.

On My Way To Carlsberg Where's The Party 2012

By the time this post is published, I'll be half way going up North to Penang for Carlsberg's Where's The Party? A little bird told me that we will be staying in one of Penang's most prestigious hotel, Hard Rock Hotel.

We will all be partying the whole day and night on the beach. That's why I went to 1 Utama to purchase goggles, sunglasses, and sun block. These three items cost me about RM150, tsk tsk. Inflation.

Okay. I'll be writing about this epic party after I've enjoyed it. Have a nice weekend!

Heineken Thirst Is Back!

It's the 4th quarter of the year, which means it's time for more parties and events. Don't let it stop! In a month time, Heineken Thirst - Malaysia’s leading electronic music festival - powers back to life on December 8 at Sepang International Circuit.

This year's line up:

Avicii

Justice

Above & Beyond

Gesaffelstein

Brodinski

Also will be there are our homegrown talents like Goldfish & Blink, LapSap, Mr Nasty & GuruGuru and Phil K Lee.

Of course, Heineken’s continuously evolving roll call of creative and collaborative talent doesn’t end with the music talent. In the search to find ever more exclusive and inclusive experiences for Heineken Thirst, last year’s festival included 10-metre tall pillars-like science fiction-inspired turrets – that welcomed 25,000 people into an arena flanked by our futuristic Infinity Bar and Heinekabanas to create a Heineken drinking experience unique to Heineken Thirst.

This year promises to develop those themes ever further at a specially designed Heineken Thirst festival site featuring some of the latest innovations in creative technologies, digital landscaping and interactive collaborative installation pieces. In another Heineken Thirst exclusive, the festival will feature a huge sculptural centrepiece in the form of Robert James Buchholz’s Wish, fresh from its appearance at this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, a 17 metre high installation consisting of three LED lit flowers that pulse in time to the music.

Rukes

Add to that the presence of the world’s leading DJ celebrity snapper Rukes, the self-taught LA based photographer who tours the EDM festivals of the world with his lens and you have the recipe for a night of supercharged thrill-seeking and discovery on December 8 at Heineken Thirst, Malaysia’s leading electronic music festival.

Don't wait now, the earlier you get the tickets the cheaper it is.

Tiger Halloween Party @ Thai Club

First of all, this will be my 800th posts. Not much if compared to those who publish a post daily or some even a few posts daily. It's a little milestone for my blog Simon Says. In less than 2 months down the road this blog will be celebrating it's 5 year old birthday. Oh, so my blog is the same age as Bangsar Babe's that just celebrated her blog's 5 year old birthday.

Okay, last week a few days before Halloween a group of us already started the party early in Thai Club. We were there for one of the Tiger ‘Dead Thirst’ Halloween parties that was thrown concurrently in 22 locations

This picture made it to The Star Metro on 3rd Nov 2012
Yes! We're famous. *shiok sendiri mode*

I went inside the club and got myself some serious zombie-like makeup. Gross, yes?

It's not a party without Tiger beers. Keep it coming!

As usual, take picha time!

Joanna, Y U NO ZOMBIE? You devil you!

Hui Min, zombie got so cute meh?

This is more like it. Benjamin look like zombie even without makeup =P

Even the stage is decorated with Halloween theme.

What are you Ah Bok? Skele Potter?

I didn't know zombie knows how to use DSLR.

Jackie still can smile with a vampire and a zombie standing next to him.

The live band here is good. Then there's also this China girls group named Queen. Of course, the Tiger Zombie dancers put up a performance for the party goers too.

It's a nice little party and socializing with the gang. Thank you Tiger for the almost endless booze and throwing this Halloween party.

To be part of Tiger’s exciting calendar of events, stay tuned at their Facebook page - www.facebook.com/Tigerbeer - It’s where you want to be.
