This is a very old post that suppose to be up a few months ago. Due to my busy schedule, I overlook this and skip this post. Only when I was checking out my Facebook photo album that I remember I haven't post about this Japanese restaurant.
I was hovering alone in Desa Sri Hartamas one night and looking for place to have dinner. Then I look around and found a cozy looking Japanese restaurant call Aoyama (Green Hill) The Green Room.
It is not a very big place and the deco is not the high class type but it's what one can find in a typical Japanese restaurant like the now defunct Dontaku in Bukit Bintang. With seats near sushi bar and the normal table and seats near the wall.
This is my first time here, so I really not sure what is good. Good thing the nice lady captain help me in choosing the dishes. Funny thing is there's two dishes I ordered is that today's special, so it's not in the menu and only available seasonal.
I order a very special sashimi dish as appertizer. Ninki Tai (Thinly Sliced White Fish with Foie Gras), I have a thing for Foie Gras that I can't resist.
The combination is just out of this world. Mixing the smooth and flavourful Foie Gras with a fresh but rather bland white fish is quite a new experience for me. Both compensate each other, while the Foie Gras added more taste for the white fish, the white fish tone down the jelak feeling of the oily Foie Gras. I recommend this for you Foie Gras lover out there. By the way, this dish can be found in the menu.

As my main, the captain recommended Grilled Cod Fish Marinated in Miso Paste to me. It's the special of the day, so you won't find it in the menu. So, I ate it with a bowl of white rice. Yes, I need rice because I'm addicted to rice. LOL.
The cod fish is grilled to perfection and the marination of miso paste is just so good. The oil from the cod fish made the meat like melted in my mouth and then the taste of the miso will fill with my mouth. It's a very good dish to go with white rice too. Too bad it's not always available in the menu.

For the last dish, I want to drink some hot nice soup. The captain told me today they have a special Salmon Belly with Shitake soup. Just the right dish I need.
The soup is rather oily due to the fact that salmon belly was used. Salmon fish oil is full of Omega 3 so it's still ok. The shitake act to tone down the soup so that you won't get an oily feeling while drinking the soup. Not sure whether chicken stock or fish stock was used to make the soup but it's more on the shoyu based type of soup. Served piping out, warm my stomach, and that's good enough for me.

I will surely drop by again to try out so many other dishes there in the menu. Ah, there's too many other Japanese restaurant to try out too. So many good food, so little time and money. T_T
