Snacking At Harbour City Mall, Hong Kong

On the 5th day in Hong Kong, after attending my cousin's wedding lunch and eating authentic Yuen Long Poon Choi. A few hours later, my Hong Kong cousin, Elaine asked me out to join her in Harbour City 海港城 just before dinner later at Star House 星光行. I then found out that the reason she asked me there is to eat some snacks before dinner and she won't be able to finish it so I'll be the one to help finish off. Yeah, she only eat a bit of what we had and I finish the rest.

First stop, is Japanese ice-cream from Hokkaido at 3rd Floor City'Super's food court. The kiosk names is Kasho-chaya. The ice-cream is made from milk imported from Hokkaido. There's only two flavours, milk and green tea (macha).

Elaine like the green tea ice-cream here is because the richness of the green tea flavour that still attain the bitter-sweet taste of a tea, unlike some other green tea ice-cream that's only left with sweet taste.

I chose a twister with green tea and vanilla with mochi, red beans and greent tea jelly as condiments. The green tea is really as good as Elaine describe it. The texture is very smooth and soft and the green tea taste is quite rich. As for the milk ice-cream, I can really taste the richness of the Hokkaido milk.

There's green tea jelly at the bottom.

Elaine only ate 1 scoops. I have to sapu the rest.

There are a lot of other food kiosk here but we have limited space in our stomach and dinner time is just two hours away.

Going to another place, Elaine has a sudden crave for french fries. Not any fries but New York Fries.

Elaine asked me whether we have NYF in Malaysia. I told her have Ireland's Potato in Malaysia but not NYF. She then told me that she don't like Ireland's Potato lol. She recommended her favourite New York Fries item, the Italian Job.

Who won't like that melted cheese curd and minced beef in tomato sauce poured on big crispy fries made with USA potatoes, finished with black olives on top. OMG, it's making me drool while writing this. The fries are only prepared once order is placed and not fried and placed that on standby. That's why the fries are crispy and hot.

We chose to devour the Italian Job sitting at an outdoor patio facing the port. Quite a nice way to enjoy piping hot fries at about 15 degree Celsius.

If you are bored with the HK style cafeteria (茶餐厅) while you are in Hong Kong, you can opt to come to Harbour City, there are a lot of nice snacks and food kiosks/shops around. You'll be amaze that in Citi'Super alone there's so many prepared food to choose from.

kumfye: yeah, if it's done right, green tea ice-cream is very nice. NYF is nice. I like that cheese curd is used instead of normal cheddar cheese or mozzarella.
