Simon Says: Happy Birthday to Victoria and my cousin in HK Keith. Tomorrow is Amy's birthday.
Another lunch series with my colleague. In morning shift the only day that we drive out to look for food is the shift on Sunday because I can park our cars for free in the car park outside HP Tower. I think the car park belongs to HELP college :p
So, at lunch time we drove ourselves to Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and get ourselves a fix on Chili Pan Mee. Kin Kin is always stuffy, slow service, bad attitude, and unhygienic. We prefer to go to Super Kitchen located in the opposite of Kin Kin.
Honestly for me, I can't really tell the different between the Chili Pan Mee in Super Kitchen and Kin Kin but some people still have the mind set that the founder is always better. The only slight different that I notice is that the dried chili in Super Kitchen has a bit of burnt taste while the one in Kin Kin don't have. The pan mee in Super Kitchen is slightly thicker and firmer than Kin Kin and Super Kitchen give a slightly bigger portion. From reading other blog post about Super Kitchen, I found that Super Kitchen is the preferred place to eat chili pan mee for most bloggers.
A jar of dried chili that we're addicted to.
Apart from the environment, another advantage to eat in Super Kitchen is the variety choice of other food that you can choose if you're not in the mood for chili pan mee. My personal favourite will be the Drunken Chicken Mee Suah, even better if you eat it during cool weather. For those of you that doesn't like ginger or Chinese rice wine then this dish is not for you. The curry mee here also not bad. There's also Cantonese fried noodle, gu loh yoke rice, and etc.
Pork balls soup which is served together with the chili pan mee dry version. Yupe, there's soup version here. Unlike Kin Kin the pork balls soup is served only like you almost finish your pan mee.
A standard dry pan mee with the fried anchovies, minced pork and an egg that is boiled until the egg white cook but not the egg yolk.
Mix it all up and we got a very addictive and delicious bowl of chili pan mee.
One bowl is not enough!
Rating: 4/5
After the hot and spicy chili pan mee, it's always good to down it with a glass of cool Lime & Sour Plum juice.
Ah...Satisfaction.

I'm a super pan mee fan. But I used to eat in Cheras and Kuchai Lama area. Cheras Mei Yee Pan Mee is similar with the one u recommended. I'll give it a try if I'm going to that area. ^^
Bring me there when i'm in kl can? *LOL*
I've tried Super Kitchen before but the ummph is not there compared to Kin Kin.
The secret is in the chilli flakes!

Hi, first time reading your blog! The chili pan mee looks delicious! Only eaten normal pan mee, not chili. Will give it a try : )
Looks like a nice place for pan me...but when you mixed them all up (the ingredients), it does looks spicy to me..is it?:D

If I'm downtown for some reason, I will pick Kin Kin over Super Kitchen - it just tastes better. However, since I stay in PJ, I end up at Super Kitchen's outlet in Kota Damansara area quite often :o)

wah, u put so much chili ar?
Initially I thought it was from KinkIn Panmee from town, somewhere near Jln T.A.R. Didn't know they have this in Kepong too. Looks good~ yummy
I went to chilli pan mee once and while i'm eating, suddenly heard a very loud bang and apparently, a hanging cabinet had fallen off , what I could see is tens and hundreds of little cockroaches scattering away, sooooo gross. I never returned to that shop anymore. I went to a new pan mee store next to chilli pan mee, the noodle is nice and the place is gorgeous, it's call Eight Noodle bar, definitely a better place to eat.
mimid3vil: i like spicy
Rona: This is Super Kitchen in Jln TAR, just opposite Kin Kin
Anonymous: lol, I think most restaurant has cockroaches prob.
