Static! Oh Static

When I work night shift, I don't have to wear formal office attire to work. It will be either collared T-shirt or round-necked T-shirt with jeans or slacks for me. I have one Hewlett-Packard F1 collared T-shirt and a Nikon T-shirt with a zip in the middle. What both T-shirt have in common is that both are made of polyester and this cause a problem.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not allergic to polyester in fact I'm quite comfortable wearing T-shirt made from polyester material. Comfortable just as long as I'm not sitting in a wrong full of PCs. When I'm working, I have to sit in a room with at least 50 PCs running 24/7. Just one hour sitting in the room wearing my HP or Nikon T-shirt, I will feel very uneasy. This uneasiness can't be explained, it's just that like you just have to get out from the room.

At first, I still am not sure what is wrong with me. Then one day I went to the toilet to do my business, and I accidentally touch my HP T-shirt with the steel pipe. It created some static sound. Sound that you hear when you touch a metal and suddenly you felt an electric shock, it won't kill of course. Lucky is that I didn't get shock but just felt a lot of static around the T-shirt.

I took off my T-shirt and place it close to the steel hose and guess what? More static sound, I can even hear static sound when I took off my T-shirt. I move the T-shirt around the steel hose until I don't hear any more static sound. I put on the T-shirt back on and I don't feel the uneasiness already, I even felt lighter.

After this experience in the toilet, every 2-3 hours I'll go to the toilet, take off my T-shirt and 'de-staticise' it. Nowadays, if there's a choice I will not wear T-shirt made of polyester to work. Cotton don't have this kind of problem. I read that some where that too much static in the body is not good for health and wearing polyester 'trapped' the static. Oh my god, does this mean that my T-shirt is killing me softly slowly?

P.S. I'm not sure whether it will be safe to use the petrol pump when wearing clothes filled with static. Scary.

Pick n' Brew April's Promotion @ 1 Utama

In less than a week after I went for the opening of Pick n' Brew in 1 Utama, I went back again to try the April's Promotion. You'll get to eat Chef's Special Introductory set, a kind of a teaser set that comes with 3 mains in smaller portions for only RM 10, and if you're OneCard holder, you'll get buy 1 free 1 for beverages.

It's Thursday, which means I don't have to work. Woke up around 3.30 pm because I slept at 10.00 am. So I SMSed PS to tell her that I'll only able to pick her up at 4 pm. When we reach Pick n' Brew in 1 Utama, it's already 4.45 pm.

PS

Jackson was there, so hardworking. He took our orders. We ordered set A and set B of the RM 10 promotion. This time I ordered coffee by the pot. Jackson recommended something mild, the Sumatra coffee, can't really remember. At first I wanted to try the set the comes with the Lamb Rack but PS doesn't eat beef so I took the set with the Roast Beef instead.

The interesting Olive Oil and Vinegar container

PS's Ice Caffe Mocha

My coffee by the pot. Can drink it in black. Can't do that in Starbucks, the coffee too bitter there

Within 15 minutes, the food are served.

Roast Beef on Potato Pancakes, Chicken Chimicangas, and Creme Cheese Salmon on Palento

Salmon on Spinach, Oven Baked Potato Skin, and Roast Lamb Rack with Onion Marmalade

Lamb Rack on Onion Marmalade

I didn't taste the lamb rack, PS told me that it tasted normal to her. Maybe she just not too keen with red meat.

Her rating: 3/5

Oven Baked Potato Skin

I didn't try this too. PS told me it's a bit too dry.

Her rating: 2.5/5

Salmon on Spinach

I took a bite of the salmon, and I loved it. This is also PS's favourite dish on the set. I don't know, maybe girl like white meat more?

Her and my rating: 4/5

Roast Beef on Potato Pancakes

The roast beef tasted like beef bacon it just melted in my mouth and left a beefy taste on my tongue. Very tasty for me that like beef and not so lean meat. Ladies might prefer something less oily.

Rating: 3.5/5

Chicken Chimicangas

One of the misses in the two sets. I found it to be too dry and very hard to swallow. Maybe it turned that way due to the cold air-con in the dining area.

Rating: 2.5/5

Creme Cheese Seafood on Polenta

This is the best dish from the set. The Creme Cheese goes very well with the seafood consists of squid and white fish meat. Not sure what kind of fish is that, taste like Dory. The seafood is just supporting actor, the main star of this dish is the Polenta. The texture is just like eating Ebiko (Prawn Roe) but much finer. I can have a whole plate of it. Next time I come I'll order this dish as my main for the full kick.

Rating: 4.5/5

I like the pictures they hanged in there

My Pick n' Brew point card

Jackson is so nice that he gave me a voucher to apply for t he Pick n' Brew housecard without having to pay the RM10 application fee. This housecard will enable me to collect 10% rebate points each time I dine in. With the points I can use it as cash to deduct the amount from my bill when I'm eating here.

Happy PS

After the meal PS and me walked around the Old Wing in 1 Utama. I also camwhored in OneWorld Hotel's toilet.

The manager behind me must be thinking I'm nuts

Hmm... time for diet
