Waterfront @ Desa Park City Revisited

Remember I wrote a short post about Waterfront not long ago? Well, I went there again last Saturday and this time I brought my camera along.

The Neon Title

MaxValue owned by Aeon (M) Bhd. Jusco card member can use your card here.

Big Apple Donuts still not open yet :(

One of my favourite ice-cream.

Desa Park City is just behind Bandar Manjalara, you can going to the guarded entrance at the roundabout that is going to exit to LDP. Don't worry about the guard, you don't have to stop and give your IC or license, just drive straight in. Go straight and turn left at the first turning, then straight until a small roundabout, take 9 o' clock. Go straight until you see bright lights and building on your right. That's where Waterfront @ Parkcity is at.

Kluang Station, serve up good Hainamese Chicken Chop

Shiojikiya 正直屋, and next to it is Rakuzen Kitchen.

So, it's not the full fledge Rakuzen, might be a toned down version. Too bad still not open for business yet when I was there.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

At the back there's a nice man-made lake. Nice to come here to jog.

Another short post, just good to know that now I don't have to pay RM 1.60 toll to go to 1 Utama if I craved for Big Apple Donuts, don't have to look hard for parking if I want to eat good Japanese cuisine, can always come here for my fav ice-cream, and do some shopping for groceries in a supermarket ala Jusco style (hope they sell Hoegaarden here). In short, this place is like a mini 1 Utama closer to home. ;)

Pick n' Brew Opening @ 1 Utama

On 30th of March 2008, Pick n' Brew open it's second outlet in 1 Utama. Yeah! Nearer to home. Don't have to go all the way to Glenmarie, Shah Alam already. Jackson SMSed me telling me about the RM 2 Irish Cream Coffee with free muffin promotion. Too bad I tuned my bio clock to wake up late afternoon. I only reached there around 3.30 p.m.

I went in and say hi to Jackson, and he told me that they all here already. ??? Who? "The food bloggers (floggers)", Jackson said. He then brought me to a table within a circular hanging beads.

The floggers inside the secret meeting place.

Finally, I get to meet some of the floggers in my Gluttony list. I was introduced to Ekeng, Jason, Teckie, Serene, Dwayne, Jasmine, Mr. B and WMW whom was sitting with her friends at another table came over to chat with the floggers. Nice meeting you guys. They're a group of fun people that loves food. Me like food too.

I later read in Nipples Joe's blog and found that he was there too but he didn't stay to have food because he already had Bah Kut Teh. So didn't get to meet him in person. Maybe next time.

After the introductions, I sat down and they're still taking turns taking photos of the food that's arrived. The bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar were on the table, so I helped myself to a piece while they were busy taking photos. The bottle that holds the olive oil and vinegar is 2-in-1, one side opening is for the olive oil and the other opening is for the vinegar.

After that the gang passed their food to me for me to take photos, I'm quite reluctant la because the food is getting cold and they're all hungry already (first time eating with a group of floggers will make you feel like this I think because if eating with non-floggers they don't care whether you took your photos or not). So, I quickly take shots of the food.

Mr. B's Chicken Pesto Spaghetti

Jasmine's Caesar Salad

CelineSerene's Penne Carbonara

Dwayne's Grenobloise Salmon Fillet

WMW brought over her coffee by the pot for us to shoot

My Caffe Latte

My Spanish Prawn & Avocado Salad

RM 2 Irish Cream only on Opening Day

Strawberry Cheesecake ordered by Winnie

Jasmine and Mr. B have to leave early due to working commitment. Mr. B left most of his spaghetti untouched and was later sapu by me. It was good. The spaghetti is flavoured with herb and not too salty. For those that like herb and spices in their food, this is a must try.

Rating: 3.5/5

As for my Spanish Prawn & Avocado salad also not bad. Pick n' Brew is very generous by using middle size prawn which is fresh and give large slices of avocado which is ripen just right. Avocado fan here, give me more avocados. Another must have here.

Rating: 3.5/5

Since I didn't have a chance to taste the other food, so you must go to the other floggers blog to get their view on this.

Dwayne working his shot on the muffin. You may noticed that both CelineSerene and Dwayne have the same link, this is because they both update the same blog. CelineSerene is the writer and Dwayne is the photographer. Actually there are a few food blogs that are manage by couples such as Kampung Boy & City Girl, SugarBean, Less Than Ten and Brought up 2Share. By the way, Jackson gave each of us a free muffin to take away. Thanks Jackson, the muffin is very yummy.

Ekeng my man

Smart and handsome Jackson managing the counter

The makan gang's flower bouquet to congratulate the opening. Oops, sorry I came empty handed.

I think this is the only restaurant that give Food Blogger discount. Thanks again Jackson.

Happy Birthday Ringo!

Most of you that have been to my blog before noticed that I've changed the background colour to pink. No, I'm not turning this site into a sissy site. This is a dedication to Cheeserland.com's blogger Ringo because Cheeserland.com uses pink as the main colour.

It's Ringo's birthday today (2nd of April) and we're planning a surprise for her. Her readers and friends will send in a photo or video to wish her happy birthday and Mr. BBQ (the Janitor of the Cheeserland.com while Ringo is trapped confined in Dreamhouse due to the Malaysian Dreamgirl competition) will post it up to Cheeserland.com as a surprise celebration for Ringo.

For example, what Cheddie is doing.

I've sent in my photo wishes already, it's a very simple yet thoughtful. Must thanks Mr. BBQ for planning this out and having this idea. Now I'm wondering how many entries has been received. By the size of Ringo's readers, it might be in a range of 100-200 entries.

I wished her in Japanese, so let me translate to Romanji, "Ringo-chan, tanjoubi omedeto, ganbattekudasai". You may asked, why I drew an apple, it's because Ringo in Japanese means apple. Translate into English:

"Little Ringo, Happy Birthday! Please Keep It Up!"

I've already seen KY's entry from the teaser post. Can't wait to see all the entries. Oh, by the way remember to vote for Ringo for the Malaysian Dreamgirl competition. Send DREAM 11 to 33001, RM 1 per vote. 1 vote can really make a different. It's her birthday, if you didn't send your photo or video, you can give her a birthday present by voting her.

Lastly, I like to wish Ringo a.k.a. Cheesie best of luck in Malaysian Dreamgirl, and hope that she can speak in a louder voice because the mic can't captured what you have to say and this will most likely affect her performance with the audience. So, Ringo please speak louder, don't have to be shy, you're Malaysian Dreamgirl finalist not some Ah Lian on the street. Hope you'll make it and win Malaysian Dreamgirl. So that I get the chance to win to preloaded RM 10,000 AmBank NexG PrePaid MasterCard! wtf
