#Stop114A

Today I'm supporting August 14 Internet Blackout Day in protest to Section 114A of the Evidence Act that was passed by parliament, this amendment means anything posted on the Internet even if it's posted by others that is deem seditious or defaming another. We the owner of the media, network or account is guilty of posting that said comment or information. The burden of proof is bear by the accused instead of the prosecutor like what is commonly practice. For example, if anonymous left a comment that is deem to defame certain VIP in my blog, 114A enabled the VIP is sue me even though I was not the one posting the defaming comment but because the comment is posted in my blog, I need to proof my innocence. This is a law that works the opposite way of innocent until proven guilty.

This not only works on blog. Your Facebook, Twitter or social networking tool on the Internet will be affected. Even if your wifi was leeched by someone that posted something seditious, you'll be the one that bear the consequences. You can read more about this draconian act here. We'll be living in the fear of even using the Internet, let's get this amendment repeal.

What Did I Learn From Nuffnang Blogopolis 2012 Kuala Lumpur

I just got back from Nuffnang Blogopolis 2012 Kuala Lumpur. Not gonna blog about how it went and all that. I'll just summarized what I learned and took back with me from all the Master Classes.

1. Time management is important in blogging. If you are serious into getting readers. Make something like a Editorial Calendar to scheduled what you'll post in a week or even in a month.

Kenwooi.com, Chee Wah, and KY

2. Frequent updates is advisable for getting readers to come back to your blog, so that they can expect a few posts in a week but quality of the content must be good and not just blog something that is not really good as a filler. Like, Kenwooi, he'll put his not so good post during the weekend when not many people reads blog.

Huai Bin and Hui Wen

3. All of the top bloggers state that your blog is about you yourself. Don't blog for anyone. You must be true to yourself and blog honestly. If you lie in your blog, sooner or later someone will find out, which will hurt your credibility in the end.

Eric Cruz, Firdaus, and Lionel

4. Blog design 101 - Auto play music in a blog is a definite NO-NO. It's just plain annoying. A Font is a cookie cutter and a typeface is cookie. Go Google it if you want to go into detail about the different between font and typeface.

Vivy Yusof and Beautiful Nara

5. Have a simple and easy to remember blog name or blog URL. Design a logo or make a recognizable header. Last but not least having a unique tagline is important for your blog's branding.

Carlos Nizam and Sue Anna Joe

6. Learned some basic photography skill and the basic rules of capturing a good picture before you go and bend the rules. Investing in a good camera do help to up your game in blogging or vlogging.

Xia Xue

7. Find out why you blog in the first place and what you're passionate to blog about. It might be food, cooking, traveling, your personal life or even camel. Blog something that relates to you and others. Oh, please blame Lionel from Ripplewerkz if XiaXue.sg is not moved to Wordpress yet in a few months time =P

Premesh, Timothy Tiah and Kenny Sia

8. Timothy told us that when he login to his secret Nuffnang Control Panel that only him and Boss Ming have access to, he sees that social media platform like Twitter and Facebook didn't pulled down the traffic in blogs but helped to increased the traffic because it shows 30-40% of the traffic is referral from Twitter or Facebook. So, blog is still relevant in Malaysia blogosphere. Some of the top type of blogs in Malaysia are, food blog, entertainment blog and personal/lifestyle blog.

Ernest and Maria

9. Using a different way of blogging will help to boost your readership. For example, doing a vlogging and post on YouTube and post it in your blog post instead of only writing it in words. Draw comics instead of telling your story in words. Utilize other social media platform such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Pininterest to link it back to your blog.

You mean like this?

10. Last but not least. Nuffnang will be launching the New Nuffnang soon!

Simon Says Like Page

Well. Not much time to do a long post. For those of you that do not know yet, I've started a Like page for this blog of mine. In the like page, new blog post link will be updated there, photos related to a blog post will be uploaded to an album (for those that like to see more photos because I don't want to bombard my blog post with too many photos), and YouTube link to the videos of my YouTube Channel (some post I have shot video).

So, if you like the posts that I wrote in this blog, then go like Simon Says Like page too to get the full experience wtf.

Thank you ;)

Blog War Over F&N Free Party! How It Started.

Christmas is coming but instead of making peace, two bloggers that I know are making war. Yes, that's right they are having Blog War currently. Why they're having a war? No, it's not because they hate each other. No, it's not because they have a pass relationship turned sour (from what I know the only first met 2 weeks ago). It's all because both wanted to win the F&N Free Party With 25 Friends Contest.

Reminds me of the F&N FreeStylz Event that I forgot to blog about. :p

How's the war started? At first PamSong and Huai Bin never cross path. Both posted on their own blog that they want to win this contest here and here. It is all fine until one night both met at the same event. When bloggers meet, they usually exchange their blog URL and WHAM! Each of them found out that they're going for the same contest.

Huai Bin and I.

PamSong and I.

Queen of Multiple Posts Per Day, Queen Pamela then activated her Weapon of Mass Persuasion to get support in her conquest. Which, President Huai Bin of SixthSeal Nation retaliated by declaring war with PamSong Nation. As both of them work as copywriter, we can expect some words fight here.

Latest news is that President Huai Bin had launched his final attack. So, all we can do now is to wait for the result of who will win the war. It might turn out that both will not win because this contest is not about who got the best post lol. Since I already left a comment in PamSong Nation saying that I will vouch for her. I of course will support Queen Pamela. As for President Huai Bin, he already has some very highly connected bloggers such as KY lending a support to him.

See those F&N, it's free yo!

I should have grabbed as many cans of F&N as possible during the Freestylz event but the food from Italiannies distracted me :p We have a small Q& A session with the designer of the new design on F&N Sarsi, Ice-cream Soda and Orange.

Distracted by these delicious meatballs on cream cheese sauce from Italiannies.

Well, I did go home with 3 F&N Freestylz cans autographed by the designers themselves. One of them is our local talented singer, Danny One. One of his more famous song is "Siapa" that features Candy Cheah.

The author and Danny One.

My autographed F&N. Thanks to F&N of course. ;)

I will be happy to donate my 3 cans of autographed F&N to Queen Pamela for her conquest. It won't be of any use though. Why? Okay. I'm a lazy blogger that only posted on this event that happened back in the month of June this year? So the F&N can won't have the "F&N" printed on the tab.

Okay. I might go to supermarket and buy lah but I think it's almost the deadline right? Queen Pamela, if you really need the tab, just buzz me ok? The due date is 31st of December, which is less than two weeks. For those of you that is gung ho enough to challenge Queen Pamela and President Huai Bin in this contest, click here before it's too late :p
