Heineken Thirst Is Back!

It's the 4th quarter of the year, which means it's time for more parties and events. Don't let it stop! In a month time, Heineken Thirst - Malaysia’s leading electronic music festival - powers back to life on December 8 at Sepang International Circuit.

This year's line up:

Avicii

Justice

Above & Beyond

Gesaffelstein

Brodinski

Also will be there are our homegrown talents like Goldfish & Blink, LapSap, Mr Nasty & GuruGuru and Phil K Lee.

Of course, Heineken’s continuously evolving roll call of creative and collaborative talent doesn’t end with the music talent. In the search to find ever more exclusive and inclusive experiences for Heineken Thirst, last year’s festival included 10-metre tall pillars-like science fiction-inspired turrets – that welcomed 25,000 people into an arena flanked by our futuristic Infinity Bar and Heinekabanas to create a Heineken drinking experience unique to Heineken Thirst.

This year promises to develop those themes ever further at a specially designed Heineken Thirst festival site featuring some of the latest innovations in creative technologies, digital landscaping and interactive collaborative installation pieces. In another Heineken Thirst exclusive, the festival will feature a huge sculptural centrepiece in the form of Robert James Buchholz’s Wish, fresh from its appearance at this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, a 17 metre high installation consisting of three LED lit flowers that pulse in time to the music.

Rukes

Add to that the presence of the world’s leading DJ celebrity snapper Rukes, the self-taught LA based photographer who tours the EDM festivals of the world with his lens and you have the recipe for a night of supercharged thrill-seeking and discovery on December 8 at Heineken Thirst, Malaysia’s leading electronic music festival.

Don't wait now, the earlier you get the tickets the cheaper it is.

Celebrating The Launch of Heineken New Iconic Bottle

Update: Heineken wants to send you to Sensation Taiwan 2012. Click here for more info.

It happens like 3 weeks ago at KL Live. Yes. I know, I've been lazy to write blog post. I need to buy a desk and a chair so I can write comfortably in my room because there's no privacy at all in the living room here in my house. Okay back to the celebration party of the launch of Heineken New Iconic Bottle. The nice people from Heineken flew in Dutch DJ, Ferry Corsten for this party. He does attracts a lot of party-goers coming to this party.

Huai Bin and Tian Chad were there. Tian Chad is now in London covering the Olympics, if you want to read something Olympic from another view, then head on to his blog. Have a great time there!

When there's party, there's Serge. We met again in Nuffnang Blogopolis in the same week lol.

"Where are the girls?", you asked. Nah, herelah.

Cindy with her hair getting longer and longer. Want to fight with Rapunzel, is it?

Cindy's friend Ruby, whom I haven't met for a year or two.

Here are Qian Qian and Bendan. Please ignore Benjamin.

Here's Kelly, Louise and Choulyin.

After an hour of drinking, it's finally begin. Here's a video of the Heineken New Iconic Bottle presentation.

And then the man himself, DJ Ferry Corsten bringing down the house.

No wonder he's so popular, he really can spin and mixed some good dance music. Heineken definitely chose the right man for the job.

It's not even near the end and we had already drank so many bottles of Heineken.

There will be more of this coming. To be part of Heineken’s exciting calendar of events, log on to www.facebook.com/heineken or www.heineken.com/my for more information.

Some facts about the Heineken New Iconic Bottle:

CAPS OFF TO QUALITY
The bottle caps all now have QUALITY written on them.

A SALUTE TO STANDING TALL
A longer neck gives the bottle a slimmer and more modern shape. It also proudly bears the Heineken name. The neck then leads to a strong and manlier shoulder.

DEDICATED TO PRECISION
The thumb groove is an added feature that encourages you to hold the bottle with a better grip, and allows the beer to stay cold longer.

A CELEBRATION OF LASTING IMPRESSIONS
The embossed logo gives the bottle a stamp of authenticity and class.

IN HONOUR OF CLARITY
A transparent label lets you see your beer clearly. It also sits higher, emphasising the shoulder

Come Celebrate Heineiken New Iconic Bottle!

It's time to party again people! Any fans of Heineken out there? You, you there, you like Heineken? Yes? Cool, then you don't want to miss the launch party of Heineken new iconic bottle and Heineken ‘Progressive’ Tour.

The bottle features an embossed curve, inspired by the label ‘racetrack’, on the neck and back. The back of the bottle features the same curve motif, set above an embossed Heineken logo and the iconic star. The curve acts as a thumb groove and is perfectly placed to meet the drinker’s fingers which add tactility and grip as they grasp the bottle whilst keeping the beer to stay cooler. Additional bottle updates include a slimmer body accentuating the bottle’s premium feel and an elongated appearance emphasized by both vertical neck branding and a higher label position.

What's more, Heineken is flying down renowned Dutch DJ, Ferry Corsten to Malaysia for an exclusive invite-only party on 11 July 2012 at KL Live. To score invites to this exclusive event, consumers are encouraged to visit Heineken’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/heineken.

Heineken ‘Progressive’ Tour will see exclusive events held nationwide and also Heineken’s well-known music programmes: Heineken Green Room & Heineken Thirst slated in the last two quarters of the year. It's always good to enjoy music with a bottle of iced cold Heineken.

I Watched UEFA Champions League Live in GSC Gold Class

Yes. You read the title correctly. I didn't believe it too. Never in the world would I thought that the first time I enjoy GSC Gold Class facilities is to watch football live in HD projection. All this happened thanks to Heineken.

The reclining sofa is just so comfortable and blanket is provided. In the first half, I watch it while eating popcorn and drinking free flow of Heineken. The best part is I only have to press a button and a new can of iced cold Heineken will be sent to me.

During the first half break, I get to have hotdog for supper. The match between Chelsea and Bayern Munich was quite a good one. Bayern too the lead by Chelsea equalized in the end. So, I ended up watching the match till 5 a.m. with Chelsea winning the Champions League in the penalty shoot out.

This is once in a live time experience. The next best thing to watching it live in a stadium. It's more comfortable though watching it in the Gold Class =P Hope there's more events like this in the future. Thank you again Heineken.

A Night In Rome

UEFA Cup Final is starting soon in Rome. I won't have chance to go to Rome or Krabi to watch the match like KY and Mellisa. Luckily, I got to go to A Night In Rome party to get a taste of Heineken Rome. I got to the venue, which is the Hap Seng Star showroom after my dinner at Nagomi Shabu Shabu at Menara Hap Seng (ah talk about coincidence). Will write about the dinner in the next post.

Besides free Heineken and cool music. That night, there's a hair show and lucky draw for an all expenses paid trip to Rome to watch the UEFA Cup 2009 Final.

The beautiful hostess, Marion.

We got Joey G spinning the wheel.

The hair show is sponsored by Redken.

KY showing his Heineken ID, which I don't know why I didn't get mine yet since we applied almost at the same time.

Endless buckets of Heineken thanks to Desmond.

Surrounded by Suanie, Steph, Ei Ling and Cindy.

Horng, will be in Krabi too watching the final. So nice.

I'll just imagine that I am in Rome by looking at this background.

Bumped into Cynthia too.

An event like this will be weird if you don't see Joyce there.

The night started and ends with Lap Sap spinning some cool club music.

Even though I won't be going to Rome or Krabi but it's good to enjoy Heineken with friends like Wilson here. Thank you Heineken and Nuffnang for inviting. Maybe next year I got to go somewhere exotic and watch the final.

Drinking Heineken From Tab in The Tavern

I was invited by Nuffnang to The Tavern in Guinness Anchor Berhad (G.A.B)'s Sungei Way Brewery at Batu 9 Jalan Klang Lama. Now only I know that Jalan Klang Lama is that long. As, I am not working that day, I was the earliest to arrive. I'm not your typical Malaysian with the typical Malaysian timing.

Due to security reason the visitor parking is a bit far from the brewery. About 1 or 2 minutes walk and it doesn't help when it's raining. Lucky that I kept an umbrella in the car. The entrance of The Tavern looks so like a typical Irish pub. The green colour reminds me of St. Patrick's Day which Guinness will be having an event in 1 Utama on 13th of March 2009.

The deco here are awesome and some of it can be consider as antique, which it'll be hard to find outside.

The Heineken tab is a Saxaphone, how cool. I of course was served with Heineken while waiting for the other bloggers to arrive.

This is the only place in Malaysia that one can get the freshest Heineken Draught. I find that the Heineken here is smoother and maltier than what I normally drank in the other pub which is mostly bottled.

My first pint of the night.

KY, Mellissa, and Huai Bin were the second to arrive. Since we're all haven't have dinner yet and were very hungry, so we started to hit the buffet line while waiting for the others. Otak-otak and lamb were my favourite that night.

Otak-otak

Lamb

While having dinner, I had a small talk with Desmond and Rengeeta. From there I found out that in the advertising and media industry, there are a lot of different companies specializing in different field. That night, there's already PR company, Creative company, Web Advertising company and of course Nuffnang to provide the media.

After filling up everyone's stomach with a delicious dinner. Jasmine, Heineken Brand Manager from G.A.B. started to show us the current and upcoming contest from Heineken, which we all know that Heineken is the sponsor for the UEFA Cup. Since, it's too expensive to bring so many people to watch the final live in Rome. What Heineken do every year is to gather a group of football fan in a place to watch the live telecast in the open. Last year was held in South Africa. This year, it will be held in Krabi, Thailand. KY already won a ticket there. For us, we still have chance to book a place there by joining the Star Final contest. You can either be the first to find the location or the one that gets the highest score in the raft racing contest.

Besides the contests, Jasmine also told us that Heineken will be launching an exclusive membership call Heineken ID. Member will get extra goodies in Heineken events and other good stuff. She offered one of us the Heineken ID membership. The one that can pour a perfect pint of Heineken Extra Cold will get the exclusive membership. I did not do very well but at least I'm not the worse. Cindy poured the best pint.

Kenny pouring out foam.

The result of Kenny's pour.

I poured myself a fourth pint of Heineken and it comes out almost perfect.

Practice makes better.

Then of course it's camwhoring time.

Nuffies and Cynthia.

Posing with Audrey's cute little umbrella.

Cindy and I wore black that night.

Mellissa that's in Melbourne now. She's told me the weather's sucks there now.

Robb, I lost when arm wrestled with him.

KY and Huai Bin. No surprise that Huai Bin's here.

Tock Tock and Tim Tim.

Me, KY, ST, Audrey and Timothy.

I won't miss the opportunity to take picture of Kenny with his head shaved.

The bartender then rang the last call bell. Huai Bin and I quickly order ourself a pint or two of Guinness Draught. Yummy.

The freshest Guinness Draught one can find.

KY and Huai Bin had a hard time finding out who's right hand is stronger.

The date is actually re-renovation date. The Tavern is almost as old as the brewery.

After four pints of Heineken and a pint of Guinness Draught, it's time to say goodbye. We all had fun there drinking Heineken and eating the tasty muruku at The Tavern. Too bad The Tavern is by invitation only, so you just can't walk-in just like that. God I missed those tasty draughts.

I was trying to catch a scandalous picture of Tock Tock and Cynthia. Didn't notice that the Guinness Anchor Berhad G.A.B signage was captured so clearly too.
