While I was in Bali during my 5days/4nights trip there, I spent most of my night having dinner or a drink at Sidoi Warung. There's 3 reasons why I come here for my dinner. 1st, they serve very good and affordable Western food, 2nd is they have free Wi-Fi and last but not least, it's just a walking distance from my hotel, Legian Paradiso.

Very important for me to get Internet access.

The first time I come here, I ordered Bali Pork Chop. Omg, it's very juicy and tender. I especially like the mashed potato.

The 3rd night I only come here for a drink. Bintang Beer is my stable drink when I was in Bali.

On the 4th night, I had Avocado and Shrimp Cocktail and Chicken Breast Cordon Bleu. They are so generous with the avocados, I'm not complaining. It only cost me RP 18,900 which is about RM 6. Can't find this kind of portion and price in Malaysia.

Video Blog of my Bali Trip - Saya Nak Cuti!

Okay. This is a video blog post that I will make for my trip to Bali last month.

Arrived at Denpasar and I took a cab to my hotel Legian Paradiso. (I totally forgot that MAS has arranged a shuttle to the hotel for me FML!)

I visited the Badung Market and Kumbasari Art Market. Street food is of course one of the thing you must try if you are in a street market like this one. Here is a video of the sate ayam packing my order.

On the next day, I took a transport from Jalan Legian to Legian Beach to meet up with the Saya Nak Cuti crew doing shooting there. It cost me RP 50,000 for a distance of about 5KM. -_-

Arrived at Legian Beach but there's still like about 500m away from the bungee jump site. So, I walked on the beach and try to feel the sands. It's been a long time I haven't been to a beach.

On the third day, I booked a transport to Ubud, Bali. My primary objective is of course to eat Ibu Oka Babi Guling. LOL.

On the way there, I passed through some beautiful scenary like the one below.

The driver brought me to the branch of Ibu Oka and not the main branch. He told me that I'll have a hard time finding a place to sit in the HQ. Later I found out he was right.

After having a yummy lunch of Ibu Oka Babi Guling rice, I was drove to the Sacred Monkey Forest. The entrance fee is RP 20,000.

I saw this monkey that thought the stone is a coconut or something and try to crack it open.

I saw another monkey that really does crack open a coconut. LOL.

I then went to middle of Ubud and visited Istana Ubud.

Ibu Oka HQ is just opposite Istana Ubud. Look at the crowd.

Business here is so good that a new whole roasted pig have to be cut.

On the 4th day in Bali, I decided it's enough of taking transport, so I walk from the end of Jalan Legian (the hotel I stayed in, Legian Paradiso is near one end) to the other end (estimated about 3KM). There's a lot of things to see in between the walk, one will miss it if taking a cab.

Halfway in Legian Street, I reached the memorial monument on the 1st Bali bombing. Kind of sad looking at all those names and photos on the monument.

Did a bit of shopping on the way.

At the end of Jalan Legian, there will be a T-junction. Turn left to Denpasar town and turn right into Jalan Pantai.

At the end of Jalan Pantai, you'll find Kuta Beach.

Don't forget to drop by Hard Rock Hotel, Bali in Kuta Beach if you likes to collect Hard Rock Cafe merchandises.

Kuta Beach is also full of surfers as in Legian Beach. Actually, both beaches are next to each other. :p

I then spent the rest of my day doing a 5 hours spa in Spa Bali in Jalan Legian, which is only two shops away from Legian Paradiso. As the are havign 50% promotion at that time, so it only cost my about RP 550,000.

It's really worth it.

The 5th and the final day in Bali, the shuttle brought me to the airport and 10 am. It's time to say goodbye to Bali. I met up with Juliana and the rest of the Saya Nak Cuti crew and we checked in together.

Ok. Rakan-rakan sekalian. Sudah tibalah masa yang dinanti-nantikan. Minggu ini destinasi untuk program "Saya Nak Cuti" yang disiarkan setiap hari Rabu pukul 10 malam di Astro Ria ialah Bali. Untuk tahu lebih banyak lagi tentang produksi Saya Nak Cuti di Bali boleh lah baca post "behind the scene" aku.

Behind the Scene of MAS Saya Nak Cuti (Bali)

Have you ever wonder how a traveling program for TV being made? I have the opportunity to follow the MAS Saya Nak Cuti production crew from Astro on their Bali episode with the one of the seven winner, Juliana.

Day 1: Met the crew and Juliana in KLIA. After they checked in their luggage, it's time to go into the departure area. Juliana's mum was there to send her off.

We then depart to the boarding gate, on the way to the gate the camera is kept rolling to shoot all the moment from going pass the immigration until we reached the gate.

There's no time wasted, while waiting to board the plane, Aaron Tan the director of this episode of Saya Nak Cuti asked Juliana to put on the hook-on mic so that they can shoot the "interview" about her feeling about the trip before leaving Malaysia to Bali.

What it means by "interview" is that Aaron will ask Juliana questions and she will answer in front of the camera but after editing the audience will not be able to hear Aaron asking the questions, it will be just like Juliana saying to the camera what's her feeling about the trip.

After the MAS airoeplane touched down in Nguh Rai International Airport, Bali. The crew was the last to leave the plane because they are shooting the moment of reaching the airport.

We then split to check-in to each of our hotel because my accommodation is under MAS tour package, so it's the hotel appointed by MAS, which is Legian Paradiso. While the crew booked their own hotel.

After about 3 hours of rest and lunch. It's time to meet up the crew in Badung Market, Denpasar, Bali. The crew has already finished shooting the scene in Badung Market when I finally met up with them. The next area is the Kumbasari Art Market, which is just next the Badung Market.

So, followed them up to Kumbasari art market.

What the audience won't know is that by the time we reached Kumbasari Art Market, almost all the shops there were closed. So, the crew have to make do with some shot showing Juliana looking at some of the wood crafting.

Luckily there's still one shop that is open. Not to let this opportunity go, the crew quickly made a decision to shoot in the shop.

It's a wrap for the first day of shoot. We then parted our way. The next day will be a more exciting shoot because Juliana will be doing surfing, bungee jumping and diving.

Day 2: After having breakfast in Legian Paradiso. I took a transport to Legian Beach where Juliana will take on surfing lesson with Rip Curl Surfing School and doing bungee jump in AJ Hackett, Denpasar, Bali.

The sky was dark when I arrived at AJ Hackett where the bungee jumping platform is located.

Juliana was already up at the platform preparing for her jump. She took quite some time to get her courage to jump down from the platform but alas she was able to made it.

There's a variety of bungee jumps and prices.

After getting a taste of regular jump (USD $99), Juliana have not had enough, so she continue with a Full Body Harness Jump (USD $130). The different is one will have more control over the body in the latter, like flipping while jumping.

It's raining at that time but that doesn't deters Juliana from doing the bungee jump, which is part of her promised to her friend that passed away due to cancer. To get more of her story, be sure to tune in to Astro Ria every Wednesday 10 P.M. from 5th May 2010 onwards. The Bali episode will be the 3rd episode, which means it will be aired on 19th May 2010.

Juliana got her Certificate of Borderline Insanity after completing her jumps.

I didn't see Kelvin there on the bungee jump, which later I found out that he's back in the hotel room editing the video that they shot on day 1 the whole day. Talk about efficiency.

I didn't follow the crew to the diving site (USS Liberty ship wreck site) because it's quite far away and I have limited budget. Juliana will also be playing with the dolphin on the 3rd day. So if you want more on that you'll have to watch Saya Nak Cuti on Astro Ria.

On the last day (5th day) in Bali, I met the crew in Ngu Rai International Airport. We checked-in our luggage.

While waiting for boarding. It's time to do a closure "interview" on Juliana's thought about the whole Bali trip.

The Bali trip was great for me and I was able to see behind the scene how the Astro crew work. Street Food in Badung Market, Denpasar, Bali

Welcome to Badung Market, Denpasar, Bali. The market that never sleep as what the locals told me.

As most of you have read that my first day in Bali I ventured into Badung and Kumbasari Market in Bali with the Astro "MAS Saya Nak Cuti crew". As with any street market, the Badung market has a lot of fresh farm produce and of course street food to offer.

I then came across an interesting street delicacy, which looks like fried popiah (spring roll). I asked the vendor what is it called. Leong Peng was what I heard, sorry I don't know the correct spelling for this food.

You have to option to add in cili padi (bird-eye chili) if you like it hot. I of course asked for more.

The vendor cut the Leong Peng into a few pieces, cut some cili padi and pour some homemade sauce which tasted like a mixed of peanut and kicap. A bit like our pasembur rojak sauce with a slight different. It's good. Only cost me RP 2,000 per piece, that's why I like street food.

Don't look like much but is very tasty.

A lot of variety of fruits can be found in Badung market.

Bali dessert?

The famous Bali sausage.

Walking down to a corner of a shop, I saw this Bakso Mie Ayam stall next to it. Who will miss out an authentic bakso in Bali huh.

A bowl of bakso mie ayam only cost RP 5,000, cheap by any standard. Look at the generous amount of bakso chicken meatballs that were given. With a dash of a few special sauce into the soup, mie, friend wantan and bakso meatballs, and it was ready. I sat on the plastic chair provided and consume the piping hot bakso mie ayam there.

The mie is not like our yellow noodle. It is more like a glass noodle in blue colour. Yes, before the mie was cooked it is in transparent blue colour.

The sky is almost dark when I finished my bakso mie ayam. Waking back towards my transport, I spotted the sate ayam stall. Already a bit full, so I decided to take away the sate ayam instead. I asked for lontong too (ketupat in cylinder form lol). Cost about RP 12,000 I think, 10 pieces of sate ayam (chicken satay) and a piece of lontong (quite a lot).

The stall is so old school.

Very different from our Malaysian satay. The meat is not too marinated and the sauce is not kacang and sambal but a mix of dark soya sauce and sauce that I can't really make of. It goes very well with satay. To my surprise the lontong tasted better than the satay lol.

This is where the sate ayam is mixed.

If you ever visit Bali, be sure to visit Badung market where you can have a lot of street food. The three that I've had is only like 10% of the food there.
