THE PINNACLE OF H-ARTISTRY @ MIECC

The grand finale of the H-Artistry series this year happened early this month. Alas, I was only able to make it there at around 11pm because I need to attend the wedding dinner of my flogger friends, Christine & Chris. I made it in time to see Alexandra Burke elevating on to the stage.

I missed seeing Block B from Korea perform. I think I bumped into them in the hotel elevator earlier in the afternoon. Oh, well, friends told me I didn't miss much.

I am more interested to see another Korean group, Evol perform =P Not too bad, can dance and sing a bit. Of course there are still room for improvement.

I of course, need to get a glass of Hennessy Mix to start warming up for the next act. I asked for extra strong one.

The next act is Havana Brown. Oh, she is good with her DJ mix. She will also interact with the party revelers there too. The music she played is the kind of music I like to dance to.

Look at the crowd that night. I read that were 4000 strong of party revelers there.

Last but not least, it's Starkillers' turn to wow the crowd. Too bad he only get to wow us for 30 minutes before we end the night with a bang. I was almost KOed by that time. As, I practice to drink responsibly, I've booked a room in Mines Wellness Hotel, which is just opposite MIECC. Walking back to the hotel is no problem for me.

H-Artistry at MIECC was a night of true musical artistry, mixed with a sensational experience befitting of the amazing culmination for the H-Artistry Trilogy of 2012. H-Artistry events are by-invite-only, and are open to non-Muslims aged 18 above. Keep it locked on www.h-artistry.com.my for updates on future H-Artistry events slated for 2013.

THE PINNACLE OF H-ARTISTRY

Brace yourself, ladies and gentlemen. The pinnacle of H-Artistry, the finale and might be one of the best H-Artistry for 2012 is coming real soon. How soon? In less than a month soon. In before Deepavali soon. In 3rd November 2012 soon.

It's time to party like never before. Those that had fun with in the last H-Artistry will know what I meant. What's the performers and DJs line up this time?

Alexandra Burke

Alexandra Burke from North London. She's also the 2008 winner of The X Factor, a three-time chart-topper on the singles chart (her debut, a stirring cover of Hallelujah, sold 105,000 copies on its first day of release) and the creator of a UK number 1 album, Overcome, that features collaborations with the likes of Flo Rida Ne-Yo and RedOne. She can belt out a ballad and she brings energy in abundance once the tempo shifts up a gear.

Block B

It's the time of the KPOP craze now more than ever. H-Artistry knows that and that's why they brought in Block B. Started out by hip-hop artist and producer Cho PD under his label Brand New Stardom, Block B was among the hottest K-Pop rookies to debut last year, and they have come a long way since. With three hugely successful records out, namely New Kids On The Block, Welcome To The Block and Do You Wanna B, Block B is one of the fastest rising K-Pop boy bands internationally, and have garnered lots of attention as well as a huge following throughout Asia.

Havana Brown

House music lover will know who Havana Brown is. It's time to bring da house down. Since firmly establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with in the Australian and international DJ scene, Havana Brown’s hustle hasn’t slowed for a minute. As the only female DJ to sign a major label recording deal in Australia, Havana has delivered on Universal Music’s expectations with multiple releases of her Crave compilation series, all charting and spurning successful national and international club tours. DJ Havana Brown has since put out some hugely successful tracks, and continues to take over Malaysian dance floors and airwaves with the euphoric track “We Run The Night” ft. Pitbull.

The talented Australian DJ also holds down three hugely successful weekly radio spots. With over a 1-million-strong cult following on her weekly sets, Havana owns the Australian and European airwaves through the Austereo network and Radio FG France – one of Europe’s most popular dance radio networks and home to some of the world’s biggest DJ’s including David Guetta, Tiesto, Carl Cox, Armin Van Buuren, Bob Sinclar and others.

Starkillers

As the USA’s dance music scene continues to come of age on a widespread scale and different styles proliferate and evolve, new talents are coming thick and fast. However, only a few have the staying power to go the distance. Formerly known as Nick Terranova, Las Vegas talent Starkillers has been cutting a swathe through the bolshier end of the global house music scene over the last few years with his tough-edged, eclectic sound.

Blending big hooks and riffs, soaring vocals, thumping beats and mind-bending effects trickery, his sound is the perfect blend of high-octane, fierce energy and accessible appeal. It’s truly at home amidst the contemporary sound of cutting-edge dance music. “I’m A.D.D” he explains of the hyperactive nature of his music. “I really just try to make my sound as crazy as I can without being too far left that people don’t get it” he says.

Where will it be held?

For an event this big, of course we need a big space. The Pinnacle of H-Artistry will take place in Malaysia International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC) in Mines Resort City this 3 November 2012 from 8.30pm onwards. Google Map Link: http://goo.gl/maps/K8JtJ

Complimentary mineral will be provided throughout the night, and food stalls will also be available outside the venue for everyone to recharge during and after the event.

Join in the H-Artistry finale this 3 November by watching this space for your chance to win invites: www.h-artistry.com.my. Also be sure to download the MY Hennessy App NOW from the App Store or Google Play onto your iOS and Android devices. H-Artistry is open to non-Muslims above the age of 18 only.

Special Event Notice

The carpark of MIECC will be closed. A tip from me is you can park in the MINES Shopping Mall carpark or use the shuttle available. There will also be a subsidized taxi service made available for H-Artistry in collaboration with Sunlight Taxi. Keep it locked on at www.h-artistry.com.my for regular updates and details. Visit www.sunlighttaxi.com or call 1300 800 222 to book your ride to H-Artistry.

Hennessy Artistry 2011 Kick Off at The Opera, Sunway

Oh my, oh my, oh my. So many great events this month. Just before the end of April there will be one last great event for you party animals and clubbers out there. Yes, it's the first Hennessy Artistry event for year 2011. As of last year, the venue for this kick off event will be held in Opera, Sunway Pyramid again.

Last year we have Bunkface perform live at the event. Rocking the house down yo!

Of course, free flow of Hennessy mix. I wondered will there be new mix this year.

Ah, this year won't be able to see Zoe at the event like last year because she's shifted in Canada for good. T_T

The line-up this year are:

Leading the line-up at the upcoming Hennessy Artistry party is Australian electro/house duo, Vandalism which comprises of DJ/Producer Andy Van (previously of Madison Avenue fame) and vocalist/songwriter Cassie Van. With distinctive sounds and head turning live performances, Vandalism has over the past two years toured across the globe playing in gigs in London, Miami, Ibiza, Moscow, Greece, South Korea, and Canada. Making their debut on the H-Artistry stage, Australia’s leading electro/dance outfit is ready to infect the dance floors of Voodoo and The Opera come April with Andy tearing up the decks while Cassie belts out some show stopping sexy vocals.

Staying true to Hennessy Artistry’s innovative approach in blending musical genres of the East and West, the upcoming party will also see Malaysia’s very own up and coming rock sensations, Kyoto Protocol conquering the stage. Formed by a group of angsty but fun-loving guys, they combine their varied influences ranging from The Clash to Queens of the Stone Age to create an eclectic mix of punk, soul and electro. With an array of accolades already in their caps, these rock darlings will be looking to conquer the famed Hennessy Artistry stage through some of the most infectious and addictive tunes the country has ever heard.

Joining them at the party are two of the hottest female DJs in town, Miss Eva T and DJ Lizz. Together, they form Spinderella, a hip-hop, R&B, electro/house spinning duo that churns out tunes which are unique and fresh. Ready to rock any crowd off the ground, Spinderella has set their sights in bringing the house down with their signature club, electro, and house tunes.

Oh, for people in Penang, Hennessy Artistry will be happening on 28th April at Voodoo, Upper Penang Road, Penang.

As for me, I'll be going to The Opera, Sunway on 30th April.

For those that want to go to Hennessy Artistry this month end, please register here and you might win the passes. Please like the Hennessy Malaysia Like page also because this them a RFID technology will be used as the entry pass that will load your Facebook into the RFID wristband. Follow their Twitter too because you might be able to win VIP passes through their on going contest.

May 2010 Hennessy Artistry at Zouk KL

It's another Hennessy Artistry event in year 2010. This time it's happening in Zouk Room at Zouk KL. I still remember that my first Hennessy Artistry was here at Zouk KL too, which was two years ago. Zouk haven't done the new renovation then. How time flies.

I reached there quite early about 7.30 p.m. because I have to go to the meet and greet (actually going there for free Hennessy mix and finger food :p). We were ushered to the bistro at Zouk KL.

Of course there are free flowing of Hennessy Mix. They were serving Hennessy Cranberries and Hennessy Apple. There's also finger food (I haven't have dinner yet) like egg sandwiches, meat balls, smoked salmon, and quiche.

Hung around there enjoying food and Hennessy with some of the bloggers.

Now only I notice Samantha is wearing coloured cons.

More and more peeps that I know come as time passes by.

Seraph.

SJ and long time no see Randy.

Wen Pink's one piece is so nice.

There are also a few games that Hennessy organized for the guests there. The winner walked away with bottle of Hennessy I think. There's this DJ music spinning game and a light painting game.

FHM Girl Next Door 2010 Finalists Katherine and Michelle trying their spinning skill.

Wen Pink show off her skill too.

See how they fare.

Katherine & Michelle.

Fernnie Wong, FHM incoming girl for May issue.

At about 9.30 pm, it's time to going and party. The crowd is not many yet so I can drink more lol.

The real show starts at about 11pm when Fizzoe did his things on the stage. Sarah Lian the MC of the night also went on stage to sang with him.

Sarah Lian was voted for top of the FHM Malaysia 100 Most Wanted Woman in 2008

Bumped into Hitomi in front of the stage

Summer Daniels singing her heart out

Too much Hennessy for me, Michelle and Stephanie?

Before I went home, I saw Katherine on stage dancing with Summer Daniels

Watch Party Animal Kat showing off her moves with Summer Daniels on the stage.

This Hennessy Artistry started quite slow but ended with a great blast as usual.
