Where's The Party 2012 In Penang

It's December already! It was just a month ago I was in Penang joining the Where's The Party 2012 winners from Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong to celebrate this epic event organized by Carlsberg in Hard Rock Hotel Penang. It's been almost 3 years plus I had not been to Penang and now thanks to Carlsberg I was able to come again and also visit Hard Rock Hotel.

The medias and VIPs depart were all gathered in the Carlsberg brewery and were driven in a few tour buses to Penang. I was in bus no. 3 and the host there is Karl. He's there to break the ice and keep us entertained.

Traffic was not too good that day so it took us about 6 hours to reach our hotel. Once we reached, we were greeted by Carlsberg ambassadors and Joey G. There was not much time for me to rest. After checking-in to my room, I took a quick shower and then I depart to Hard Rock Hotel next door for the press conference.

The Carlsberg Managing Directors from Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong giving their speeches and answering the Q & A. This is the first Where's The Party event that includes three countries from Asia region.

Miss World Malaysia 2012 Yvonne Lee was my bus mate during the trip.

We were then introduced to some of the performers that will be performing at the event later that night. Some of those that appeared at the press con are DJ Mayumi, Love Cubic from Korea, Edmund Leong, Rubberband and

I was lucky to be able to get a photo with Edmund Leong. Thank you Jackie for helping me.

After the press conference, we all moved to the beach to where Where's the Party is being held.

I went straight to the food area where a lot of local Penang food is being served. Hungry sial. Before I step in the that area, I bumped in to Chutipond who is working as one of the Carlsberg ambassador there.

Taking photos is part of the job as a blogger in an event.

Shawn Lee was there to beat-box for us.

RED FM DJ Linora was there to enjoy her off mic session.

Besides food. There were games too to keep the guests entertained.

Lucky Tim with his Malaysian Hottest Bloggers girls.

Nothing like free flow of Carlsberg to keep us going all night long.

The guests were all into it. Enjoying the music and atmosphere. Epic is right.

The MCs of the night are Patricia K and Joey G. This is Simon S reporting from Where's the Party 2012 at Hard Rock Hotel beach.

The crowds went wild when Mad August ditched out the currently most popular song in the world, PSY's Gangnam Style. They all started dancing to the song.

Edmund Leong and Rubberband came out after Mad August aka Crossfire's performance. He sang some fast songs and also a song original sang by Beyond, 俾面派对. The party goers asked him to sing one of his famous song, 七友 but he told them that the song is not suitable to be sang here. LOL.

All in all, this is a great party. The best thing is we can drink all the Carlsberg till drunk because we can just walk back to our hotel. Carlsberg encourage us to drink responsibly so no one is driving that night. I really enjoy myself that night. Hope next year I'll get to go again.

On My Way To Carlsberg Where's The Party 2012

By the time this post is published, I'll be half way going up North to Penang for Carlsberg's Where's The Party? A little bird told me that we will be staying in one of Penang's most prestigious hotel, Hard Rock Hotel.

We will all be partying the whole day and night on the beach. That's why I went to 1 Utama to purchase goggles, sunglasses, and sun block. These three items cost me about RM150, tsk tsk. Inflation.

Okay. I'll be writing about this epic party after I've enjoyed it. Have a nice weekend!

Cuervo Reloaded Party

How many of you know that Tequila is named Tequila because it's named after the Tequila volcano made in Tequila Town in Mexico? It was made from plant only found in Tequila Town. I didn't know that until last Thursday after I went to "Cuervo Reloaded Party".

From left: MR SOREN RAVN (Managing Director of Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Berhad), DATO' LIM SAY CHONG (Chairman of Carlsberg Malaysia), MR RAJIV GHUMMAN (Senior Commercial Manager of José Cuervo International South East Asia), DATUK MIKE KRISHNAN (Director of Carlsberg Malaysia), MR. LEW YOONG FAH (Chief Financial Officer of Carlsberg Malaysia) and MR KENNETH SOH (General Manager of Luen Heng F&B)

Jose Cuervo is not your normal Tequila but a premium Tequila to be exact. It boast the name "World Number One Vintage Tequila". The first time I know about Tequila was watching TV when one of the character on the series I was watching ordered Tequila pop. Only when I was at a legal age of drinking that I know Tequila pop is mixing lemonade soda with a shot of Tequila. Before downing the shot, one have to lightly slam the glass covered with a paper, making a pop effect. Hence the name Tequila pop.

That night during the party, there are no Tequila pop to be found but more variety of cocktails made using Jose Cuervo Tequila. There's mix of ice-blended Tequila with Kiwi, Raspberry, Original, and Curacao. Honestly, I found the Kiwi and Curacao mix a bit too sweet for my liking. The raspberry is very easy to drink and tasty too. I don't understand why a sweet mix needs sugar around the glass, it made it even sweeter.

For me, the best way I like my Tequila is to serve it in shot, with salt around the glass mouth. One gulp of the fiery Tequila, suck the lime dry after that. Ah, it's like a liquor orgasm and a vintage Tequila like Jose Cuervo does make the different.

It's great to enjoy the Tequila shots with friends around. I already had two shots before I bumped into Shawn "The Beat Boxer" Lee and his manager Diana. There we ordered another four shots. OMG.

Louise happened to be working on the event that night and her Bulgarian friends were there. By the way, Shawn told me the world no. 1 beat boxer is from Bulgaria and world no. 4 is from Malaysia, which is himself, LOL. Such a coincidence.

Sam was there too and dressed very casually.

I camwhored with one of the Jose Cuervo girl there. Her name is Rebecca.

Big surprise of the night is the performance by Shawn Lee and ......Mr. Soren Ravn the Managing Director of Carlsberg. What did they do that wow the crowds there? Watch the video and find out.

Watch UEFA Cup Semi-final in Europe!

A few weeks ago I went to take a glimpse of the UEFA Cup trophy that made it to our shore for a tour. Thanks to Carlsberg, I get to go in for a closed door session for the media first before it's open to the public.

We were given by a surprise visit by Peter Schmeichel. He was one of the greatest Danish goalkeeper in football history. Manchester United fans will surely know him because he's a former ManU player.

Joining the launch of the UEFA Cup trophy with Calrsberg Malaysia's Managing Director, Sven Goren and Peter Schmeichel are the ambassador of Poland and Ukraine. Both countries are the co-host of UEFA Cup 2012.

Up close and personal with the trophy. I don't dare to touch it because there were four armed guards guarding the trophy. =P

There's a girl dressed in Polish traditional costume.

Now there's a chance for you to win an all-expenses paid trip to watch the UEFA Cup Semi-final live in Europe. To find out more on how to win, click here. Good luck!

Where's the Party!

Yes. One of the biggest party I went last year. Where's the Party? Performers like Crossfire and Paperplane Pursuit, Dennis Lau , Shawn Lee, High on Heels, DJ Sophie Sugar and DJ Hiloco.

Snap one photo with DJ Hiloco from Japan. I spoke Japanese and she replied in English. Ironic.

Hot bloggers from Malaysian Hottest Bloggers. I of course took picture with them.

This time "Where's the Party" is held in non other than Carlsberg brewery itself. The place is transformed into a carnival. There are a lot of fun fair games that we can play to earn points. The points can later be used to exchange Carlsberg merchandise. If we win the game, we just have to use our RFID tag to tag the receiver at the game counter to earn the point.

Some games are just for fun and don't earn us point.

There are of course free food. The food stalls were setup in a street outside.

Too bad I only able to get 40 points. At 8 pm, the performance starts. I was still outside eating. Oh well, I've had enough of Dennis Lau and Shawn Lee for the past few days, so I'll give them a miss =P I like the performance by Crosfire and Paperplane Pursuit. High on Heels were great!

At the back, there were camps of foot massage, tattoo and fortune telling. The queue were so long there. I only managed to get my Bazi reading. Met some new friends there while waiting for the Fortune Telling. One of the new friend has the same surname as me. My surname is quite uncommon, so it's quite a surprise.

Nancy Seow and Simon Seow.

Free flow of beer all night long. At 1 am, free lok lok. 6 or 7 lok lok lorries came and by the time I go there, half were emptied.

After filling up my stomach with lok lok, I took the shuttle bus back to Shah Alam Stadium where I parked my car. Taxis were there waiting to take those that is too drunk to drive. Carlsberg promotes responsible drinking.
