Visiting MAS In-flight Meal Kitchen

"Will you like to have fish or chicken, sir?", is a very common question asked by the stewardess when one is taking a flight that serves in-flight meal. Have you ever wonder who cooks up this meals? How these meals were prepared? Well, I know the answer now because two weeks ago I was invited by MAS to visit LSG Sky Chefs Brahim, their partner that prepares the in-flight meal not only for MAS but almost all of the major airlines that stops over at KLIA.

We were served some yummy sandwiches as refreshment before we were briefed by the head chef of LSG about the production of the in-flight meals.

Smoked salmon, salmon, fish rendang and cheese sandwich. I think they serve these on MAS flight too.

Little known fact, when Malaysian Airlines started back in 1973, they first cater their in-flight meals from Federal Hotel. A year later, MAS setup their own catering department, which then in 1994 became their wholly own subsidiary, MAS Catering Sdn Bhd. In December 2003, MAS partnered with LSGB, until now LSGB became the production house that prepares all MAS in-flight meals.

Head chef briefing us about the history.

LSGB has the capability of preparing 30,000 meals a day for MAS and other airlines.

Even though there's automated machines that can help them fasten the preparation and cooking. Still, there's some food like the satay is still done the traditional way.

Satay Room where the satay is still cooked using the good old way.

After the briefing, it is time to visit the production. Before that, we have to wear lab coat, headcap and sanitized our hands.

This is how we look like.

Due to competitive reason, no pictures were allowed inside the production so you have to bear with me. There were a few areas that we visited. There's the pastry area where the bun roll that you get in your in-flight meals were prepared. They have a big machine just to shaped out the rolls. It saves a lot of time because it can produce like a thousand of rolls an hour.

We were then brought to the freezer where the seafood were kept, there's even lobster inside. Head chef of MAS told us that whom ever finds the lobster with a ribbon on it will get a prize but no one dare to stay that long in the freezer to find that lobster.

Next, we walked over to the chiller where all the dairy produce where kept. There's so many yogurt, milk and cheese there. Didn't see any blue cheese though. Then we move on to the Tray area, where all the food is put into tray and trays into a special trolley. Each trolley will be marked the flights that it will be going on. 4 hours before departure, the trolley will be moved to a chiller room to keep the temperature cool so that it won't spoils. The food will be reheated on the plane.

There's checking from the arrival of the raw ingredients until the meals were on the plane. For example if the fruits arrived at the receiving area above certain temperature, the whole bunch will be rejected and the supplier will be asked to send a fresh bunch. Every procedure will be documented, check and double check. So that if any complains received can be pin point to a specific procedure that went wrong.

After the half an hour tour, it's time for lunch. The lunch prepared by LSGB is also food that you might find on a MAS flight. There's chicken, lamb and beef satay. MAS is currently running a satay promotion on their domestic and international flights. Which, they will be serving Nasi Goreng with Satay for example. As, I've written above, their satay is prepared the traditional way. Yummy.

My plate of nasi lemak with the usual condiments, and prawn sambal, chicken rendang, chicken, beef, and lamb satay, and steamed prompet with XO sauce. By the way, XO means premium, it's not alcoholic. LSGB is a certified Halal food production center.

Align Center

Below is a kind of pink crystal salt that will be given to passenger in the First Class to stimulate their taste bud because according to the Head Chef of MAS. Our taste bud will lose it's sensitiveness when we're on high altitude. Thus making the food we ate on the plane taste bland.

The beef ribs country style with mint jelly and djon mustard is juicy and tender, while the lamb shank with rosemary and garlic sauce is a bit too dry.

The shiosake (grilled salmon) is nicely done with the crispy salmon skin and a bit of fish oil just under it. Those that don't like fish might find it too fishy but I like it.

This is how the tray setup on a Business Class flight.

Whether it's Economy or Business class, you'll still get Forrero Rocher.

I finished my meal with a nice mango pudding. Yummy.

We didn't go home empty handed as we were presented with apple crumble and chocolates. Courtesy of MAS and LSGB. The apple crumble is delicious, I finished it all by myself at home. There goes my diet.

Wingz loves their bun roll so much that LSGB purposely packed a dozen for him to bring home.

Kenny was there too.

Thomas is not KampungBoy's friend lol.

This is the first time meeting VKeong the BM Kia.

With the Head Chef of MAS. He has more than 20 years of experience.

While the Head Chef of LSGB oversee the productions, the Head Chef of MAS designed the MAS in-flight menu and provide the specific instruction on the preparation to LSGB.

KampungBoyCityGal, VKeong and Jonathan of Fleishmann Hillard.

Once again, I will like to thank MAS and Fleishmann Hillard for making this trip to LSGB possible. I've learned something about in-flight meal there. Now, I will appreciate the in-flight meal more and know why it taste so bland. I'll bring my own pink crystal salt on my next flight lol. Also, thank you Jonathan for driving us there.

Malaysian Dreamgirl Party at Mist Club, Bangsar

Simon Says: Blogging about Gary Ng of Singapore can really boost up my traffic? What's all the fuzz about Gary Ng anyway? LOL.

As some bloggers complained that Nuffnang was late to be there, well, it's not Robb, the person that was responsible to bring the passes for Nuffnang bloggers is Andrea. Most of the official blogger for MDG2 reached Mist Club at about 6.30 p.m. whom are Diese, Sharlene, Andrew, Satkuru and me. Diese, Sharlene and me were stranded outside because the passes are with Nuffnang, so official blogger doesn't have any special privelege at all here. Andrew and Satkuru were lucky because they have DSLR hence also became the official photographer for the event, so they got to enter very early. The irony of it all is that the notification email sent out by Andrea strictly stated that late comers will not be entertained. We came early and were not entertained lol. I text Timothy and he replied it's because of the rain and traffic jam, they (Nuffies) already left very early. So, sometimes we just can't fight the nature lol. Blame the SMART tunnel for not doing it's job well.

Ironic but true.

Well, enough of the ranting. I just want to get it off my chest. On with the party. The venue of the party? Mist Club. By the way, their grand launching is this Thursday which clashes with Zouk KL 5th Birthday Bash T_T.

As we were stranded outside, nothing better than to camwhore. Also, lucky that Fly FM crew was out there to gives away freebies by having us to play games.

Sharlene, me and Diese. Coincidentally we wore black.

Zoe Yve then came with Yatz.

Then a girl called out my name, I turned around and saw a panda lol. I didn't recognized her until she gave me a hint. It was Hitomi. A Innit regular and Plurker.

Hitomi's friend, Hitomi and me.

Then I bumped into more familiar faces. Vivien. I told her I can't make it to Nuffnang Music Bash because I already had a dinner appointment T_T.

So we camwhore here first lah.

As I was about to enter Mist Club, Adeline called me and told me that she's reached. She's my guest. So, I waited for her before going in. The show started with Elaine Daly as the host of the night. The first piece of the catwalk is Wacoal SORCI age lingerie ^_^ This is the first time I'm watching a lingerie catwalk live. Of course, the 'exposure' is a bit tone down here.

From top left: Acha, Dawn, Denezia, and Farah.
From middle left: Juanita, Liana, Maya, and Ming.
From bottom left: Natasha, Pinky and Shasya.

Pinky was picked as the winner of this Wacoal catwalk challenge and walked away with RM 1,000 cash.

We were then entertained by the belly dancers from Celebrity Fitness. Shake it baby.

Then the girls came back on the stage displaying HP Mini 1000 and HP iPAQ handheld products. The pink HP Mini 1000 is HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam edition, selling for RM 1,999 last I know.

There was a short break after this, so I took some pictures with the bloggers there.

Andrew, Adeline, Nigel, Kel Li and Hsu Jen.

Satkuru, ?, Sidney, and David, all the kick ass photographer at the other side.

The catwalk continued with the girls wearing dress designed by ???

Time for some games with the audience. DJs from Fly FM were the game master of the night. I volunteered myself when they asked for 6 guys to come up the stage.

On the stage, I was able to capture some backstage pictures.

The girls were already dress up for the next catwalk. Cheongsam by Red Lantern.

A proper one of my camera.

The game was to do a catwalk. I didn't win but I still walked away with Beautilicious goodies pack, which I then gave to Adeline.

After the guys, it was the girls turn to play the game. Their game is to pole dance and a man will be the pole. Below here is Erica doing her stuff, she's Sharlene's younger sister by the way. I think her pole dance is too tame.

She plans to join MDG4 two years from now.

Met Dwayne there too. I won't be surprise to see him there because he's the one that takes almost all of the photos in the MDG2 photo shoot.

Why you didn't bring Serene to this party?

Then it's time to show off the Cheongsam by Red Lantern that I got a peek into from the backstage. I think Natasha carried the Cheongsam quite well because one have to have an hourglass figure to suite the Cheongsame nicely.

I was on the way to the toilet when I bumped into Fiqa and brought her to our place where Adeline is standing. They hug each other like long lost friends lol.

Adeline, me and Fiqa. Envy, no?

The usual suspects:

Tock Tock

Firdy

Even though I rant about Nuffnang at the beginning of this post, I still loves Nuffnang.

Thomas and Sidney

Erica, MDG4 finalist lol.

Ren is back in the Blogosphere.

Finally, the last set of dresses were designed by the students of Lim Kok Wing.

Black is the new black? lol

The girls then got to see their invited friends and relatives for about 10 minutes or so, and I took this opportunity to take picture with them.

Ming

Natasha

Pinky

Shasya and Acha

Farah

Denezia

Juanita

Dawn
I weren't able to catch Maya and Liana. The the show ends and DJs play some club music.

Fiqa got high drinking Red Bull wtf.

Took a picture with Jerad the CEO of Capxion Media before I left Mist Club.

Some of us the went to the mamak nearby to have supper and continue to chit chat.

What I got from the goodies bag:

HP towel, pouch and cup. I still need a HP laptop and smart phone lol. I already have HP jacket and polo T-shirt.

Intel lock, which I don't know how to change the code.

Wacoal sorci age bag

The Little Beauty Book by Beautilicious.

Ah, that's it. There's only 6 finalist left I think by the time this post is up. 3 more will be eliminated on the 24th of March (Tuesday). Wants to know who? Catch episode 9 here.

Restoran Ruby, Jalan Landak, Pudu

Warning: Tidak Ditanggung Halal

Sometime, me and my colleague will venture a bit further for lunch if we're bored with the food near Pusat Bandar Damansara. A bit further means, we'll drive down to Pudu and look for better food. One of my colleauge brought us to a restaurant that cook up some nice Chinese dishes during lunch time near Ruby Complex. There's no signboard outside the restaurant but I saw inside, there's a small sign board with Restoran Ruby printed on it.

Align Center

Arriving there at about 1 p.m., we just parked near the road side along Jalan Landak. The place is almost packed with customers either enjoying their lunch or still waiting for the dishes to be serve. Luckily for us, there's one vacant table available.

We ordered a pot of Chinese tea as usual. Me and my colleagues are very heavy Chinese tea drinker, we can go up to 6 to 8 times of refilling the hot water. My colleague made her order because she's a regular here. As regular, she got privilege because the chef cook up our dishes first lol.

While waiting, I took picture of the experienced boss cum chef dishing out out lovely lunch. First up, is the Fried Pandan Chicken. It comes with chili sauce but who needs it when the chicken is already so flavourful of the aromatic pandan leaves. Fried al dente, crispy outside and still juicy and tender inside. Now I know why I can see almost every table has a plate of this dish. A must have if you come here for lunch.

Rating: 4.5/5

Fried Pandan Chicken

Next, we have Sweet and Sour Pork. Normal right? WRONG! It's not easy to cook up a good Sweet and Sour Pork, not to mention one that is this good. The sauce tasted just the right balance of sweet and sour, the best thing about it is that it's not too watery nor too thick. It stick on the fried pork just nice. The fried pork is crispy and not too lembik (very soft). The cut is just nice not much of fat. It's very hard to find restaurant nowadays that can cook up such a perfect Sweet and Sour Pork.

Rating: 4.5/5

Sweet & Sour Pork

Simple dish here is cook al dente, just like the Kung Po Chicken that was served next. Really, simple dish is something that is very difficult to cook it perfectly but the chef of Restoran Ruby did a great job in perfecting his skill. Even though it not as much of wowing as the Sweet & Sour Pork, the Kung Po Chicken here is still beats most of the restaurant I went to before. The chicken is tender and the sauce is not too over.

Rating: 3.75/5

Kung Po Chicken

Balance out the meat with Stir-fried Potato Leafs with Belacan. There's nothing special about this dish but the vegetable is not over cooked, tasted just nice and crunchy.

Rating: 3.5/5

Stir-fried Potato Leafs with Belacan

Last but not least, Xing Kong Tofu (Star Bright Tofu?), lightly fried tofu in thick broth with beaten egg pulp. There's also cauliflower, shitake mushroom and sliced pork. This dish is good to go with white rice. Taste very nice.

Rating:3.75/5

Xing Kong Tofu

Oh, as a regular here, my colleague also took the liberty to get some yummy and crispy pork lard from the boss, she told us that this is one of the best made pork lard she ever tasted in Klang Valley. She's right too, it was snapped up by us in just a few minutes.

Rating: 4.5/5

Sinful yet irresistible.

Address:
Restoran Ruby
Jalan Landak, Pudu,

Open from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for dinner. Closed on Sunday.

Zouk KL Is Going To Be 5 Year Old

It seems like just yesterday when Zouk KL opened it's door and became one of the most prominent dance club, lounge and bar in Klang Valley. Well of course, Zouk KL just got a facelift not long ago. How does it remain one of the top club in Klang Valley, one may ask. Well, with their never ending surprise to the clubbers of course. In view of the current economic situation, Zouk KL has come up with 10 ways that one can get value promotion. Even in a dired state, one has to has fun once in while, right?

I still remember I went to Zouk KL for the Hennessy Artistry event just almost exactly a year ago. That's before they do the renovation and re-launch. It's already quite the cool club to be in and after the re-launch, it just got cooler.

Before the renovation.

You can always count on Zouk KL to bring you cool events with cool DJs and VJs.

I just went to Zouk this year during Chinese New Year, even my cousin Elaine from and Hong Kong and her friend Leona knows about Zouk and we went there for clubbing after our dinner. This is after the Zouk KL re-launch. Not much change from the outside but a lot cooler inside.

The familiar Zouk logo.

I'm drinking away in Zouk.

Hans, Sheryl, me, Leona and her friend in Zouk.

I didn't really have the chance to visit the other rooms in Zouk KL because Zouk alone can get me going for the whole night.

Some of the events that will be happening on 26th of March, Fantasia night at the other rooms in Zouk KL:

In Phuture - Sky Kingdom. If funky music, R&B and hip hop is your cup of tea, then you probally won't mind what DJ Goldfish, Luqe, Ray Rox and MC Point Blanc giving their best performance here. To heat things up a bit, 4Play Honeys will be there too.

MC Point Blanc in da house.

Behind The Scene With Malaysian Dreamgirl 2 Finalist

I went to Capxion Media to cover the Beautilicious Makeup Workshop shooting just after my work. I was working night shift the day before and I finished work at 8a.m. and went for the shoot at 10.30 a.m. This is the sacrifices I have to make lol. Go read by full post of the shoot here. Catch the latest episode of Malaysian Dreamgirl Season 2 here.

I will not be blogging about the shoot here, instead I'll be writing about what the girls do when they're behind the scene.

Dennis their nanny and catwalk partner, Juanita, Denezia and Pinky. Oh, by the way, Juanita is pronounce as Huanita, I think it's a Spanish name because J is pronounce as H in Spanish.

Will Simon Seow miss this opportunity to take picture with the girls? Of course not because it won't be long that I won't get to take picture with all the top 11 finalist, as Rajvin already pulled out due to health reason. Catch Episode 5 of Malaysian Dreamgirl Season 2 and you'll find out the details. After elimination round started the girls will be fewer yo!

Juanita, Denezia, Pinky, Ming, me and Dawn.

I found out that some of the girls have blog. Ming's blog. I haven't manage to get the other girls' blog url. Later ok?

Shasya and Acha. They were slim. Unlike fat me T_T.

Maya, Natasha, me, Farah, and Liana.

Trivial: Maya is the tallest among all the girls.

One with the Nanny.

During the Beautilicious Makeup Workshop, conducted by Julie Wong (Founder and CEO):

The girls were listening attentively to Julie's tips on makeup.

After the workshop, each girls receives a pack of Beautilicious Cosmetic products worth RM 300 from Julie. They were so happy.

Julie, why I don't have geh? Ah, never mind, I don't use cosmetic anyway. :p

After the workshop, Dennis help the girls to practice their catwalks that they learned the other day in AndrewsModels. They need to prepare for their first catwalk show next week in Mist Club.

Doing the Catwalk.

While some are practicing their catwalk. Some of the other is pestering learning more makeup tips from Julie. It's good for the makeup challenge yo!

What do the girls do while they were resting before a shoot?

They danced Egyptian dance. LOL.

No lah. Just kidding.

They actually will tell me that I am very handsome. :p

Okay, let's no joke again. LOL. Well, some of the girls kept a diary, so they will write down their feelings (I think lah) in their diary. Whether it's happy or unhappy. You must understand that they can't have communication with the outside world unless is the given 10 minutes of call. So, a diary is in one way, a way of communicating with the inner self or another person.

Farah with her diary.

Natasha kept a diary too but she was busy sorting out her Beautilicious cosmetic that day.

Liana like to relax and catch up with the news. She's not in a good mood that day, hence the fierce look. She told me it's because of PMS. I understand, I sometime have that too. :p

While the other girls like to chit chat away.

Shasya and Acha seems to be very good together.

The girls having a girls talk.

I heard from a little bird that this season also has some drama in it. Start off with some girls sneaking in mobile phone to the dream house. Which is a big no no. Of course, the production team always do spot check, hence this might create a sense of privacy intrusion for some of the the girls. Remember to catch the latest episode to get more of the drama.

And oh, please vote your favourite finalist so that she can make it to the top 3 by SMS. ;)

P.S. I got this as a souvenir from Jerad. Ah, so nostalgic, can't believe it's a year already.

Caviar

And

May Zhee worshipping me.

Roast Pork Curry Mee, Ara Damansara

Warning: Tidak Ditanggung Halal

Don't have much time to write a long post. So, I just share this yummy roast pork curry laksa that I found in Ara Damansara when I went to my assigned coverage of the Malaysian Dreamgirl 2 shoot in Capxion Media's studio as one of the official blogger.

The roast pork is not like the one you normally find in chicken rice stall but it goes very well with the curry soup. The curry is santan base, which is not too rich of santan. I like it because I won't get the jelak feeling of a too rich santan curry soup in some other curry mee that I've eaten. I also like the mint leaves that were given. It gave an extra aroma to the curry. The stall also sells Ipoh hor fun, maybe I'll try it in my next assignment.

Rating: 3.75/5

Well, not exactly cook because there's no cooking involved, unless heating up the jumbo sausages in the microwave oven, cleaning the wild rockets and squeezing the American Mustard on the jumbo sausages is consider cooking lol.

I really like the aroma of the wild rockets and the wild rocket has this kind of special taste that goes so well with sausage or ham. Real pork sausages used here. I don't really fancy sausage made with chicken meat, it just doesn't taste right and texture is all wrong.

A meal that is easily prepared, don't even have to heat up the oil on the pan. Yes, this is how a lazy person like me eat when I eat at home alone.

Lunch at Restoran Yan Yan

Warning: Tidak Ditanggung Halal

During the 3rd day of Chinese New Year. My paternal side of the family gathered for a simple lunch in Restoran Yan Yan (人人茶餐厅) in Taman Sri Sinar, Segambut. We chose here because it's near my big aunt's house, as she is the most senior so all younger uncles and aunt have to come here lol. I'm no complaining because my place is in the same taman. Makes no different though because I have to go downtown to Bukit Bintang to fetch my aunt and cousin whom came to visit us from Hong Kong.

My niece Ruth just had some chocolate.

My 表妹, Elaine playing with my nephew Noah.

We decided to have chicken rice (鸡饭), roasted pork (烧肉), BBQ pork (叉烧) and of course the imported roasted goose (烧鹅) from Hong Kong.

Roasted Pork (烧肉)

To my surprise, the roasted pork here is very good. The skin is crispy and the layer of fat and meat is very balanced. Very fast it was cleared up by us. The oil rice here is fluffy and nice too.

Rating: 4/5

BBQ Pork (叉烧)

While the BBQ Pork here is tender and can easily melt in your mouth. It's good but not as good as the one I had in Famous Seremban Favourites. Still it's good enough for us hungry people.

Rating: 3.75/5

The roasted chicken here is not too bad too, crispy and smooth skin.

Rating: 3.5/5

Roasted chicken.

The roasted goose.

The roasted goose was kept in the fridge overnight, we asked the boss to reheat and chop it up for us. He even garnished it with cucumber and spring onion, so nice of him. The skin is not that crispy anymore as compared to the left thigh I ate yesterday. Oh, for your information, this is the second goose, the first one which I snitched the left thigh was left in my friend's house lol. Nevertheless, it's still juicy and it's not as gamey as duck meat. I also have to stressed here that the goose is not from Yung Kee as someone commented in the previous post asked. My cousin just booked it in a Chinese restaurant in Yuen Long near her place. So, I guess Yung Kee is not the only restaurant that can dish out a good roasted goose in Hong Kong.

Rating: 4/5

The younger generation, my sister on my left, my brother-in-law on her left and my cousins.

After lunch, we young people went to Red Box in the Curve to sing karaoke. It's the first time I sing karaoke with so many cousins. We had good fun.

The chicken rice operates daily during lunch time. At night there's a dai chao there also very good and priced reasonably.

Mist Has Arrived

Those of you who is in Facebook might have received an event invitation name The Revelation (The Mist Is Storming Your Way) which doesn't really tell what is it all about at first. I just got updated from the message sent to me. It's about the grand launching of Mist Club in Bangsar.

I've been to Mist before when I went for the Ruumz launching event. It is very spacious. Divided into ground and upper floor. The upper floor is for VIP if not mistaken. There's a lots of tables and seats at the ground floor too. Oh, the thing I like most is that Mist has a wooden dance floor just in front of the stage, which one can dance away happily because it is quite spacious.

View of the ground floor from the upper floor. Spacious.

Cool UV light effect at the upper floor.

They have celebrity DJ like Pietro to spin the music. Well, at least for the event I went.

The wooden dance floor.

I will be going to Mist again soon this month for Malaysian Dreamgirl 2 event. Please don't envy me because I can't be around and take pictures with the top 12 finalist. So, Mist is a great place for events. I want to get myself invited to the Exclusive Grand Launch of Mist because it's by invitation only. Fret not because there's a few ways that I can get myself invited.

Option 1: Blogging/Facebook Contest
[How far are you willing to go in order to get your hands on the exclusive invites to Mist Club’s Grand Launch? Let us know and you just might be on your way to the party!]

Step 2: Send The-Mist-has-Arrived a message, informing us that you’ve done that.

For Bloggers: (This is obviously the step that I chose)

Drinking Heineken From Tab in The Tavern

I was invited by Nuffnang to The Tavern in Guinness Anchor Berhad (G.A.B)'s Sungei Way Brewery at Batu 9 Jalan Klang Lama. Now only I know that Jalan Klang Lama is that long. As, I am not working that day, I was the earliest to arrive. I'm not your typical Malaysian with the typical Malaysian timing.

Due to security reason the visitor parking is a bit far from the brewery. About 1 or 2 minutes walk and it doesn't help when it's raining. Lucky that I kept an umbrella in the car. The entrance of The Tavern looks so like a typical Irish pub. The green colour reminds me of St. Patrick's Day which Guinness will be having an event in 1 Utama on 13th of March 2009.

The deco here are awesome and some of it can be consider as antique, which it'll be hard to find outside.

The Heineken tab is a Saxaphone, how cool. I of course was served with Heineken while waiting for the other bloggers to arrive.

This is the only place in Malaysia that one can get the freshest Heineken Draught. I find that the Heineken here is smoother and maltier than what I normally drank in the other pub which is mostly bottled.

My first pint of the night.

KY, Mellissa, and Huai Bin were the second to arrive. Since we're all haven't have dinner yet and were very hungry, so we started to hit the buffet line while waiting for the others. Otak-otak and lamb were my favourite that night.

Otak-otak

Lamb

While having dinner, I had a small talk with Desmond and Rengeeta. From there I found out that in the advertising and media industry, there are a lot of different companies specializing in different field. That night, there's already PR company, Creative company, Web Advertising company and of course Nuffnang to provide the media.

After filling up everyone's stomach with a delicious dinner. Jasmine, Heineken Brand Manager from G.A.B. started to show us the current and upcoming contest from Heineken, which we all know that Heineken is the sponsor for the UEFA Cup. Since, it's too expensive to bring so many people to watch the final live in Rome. What Heineken do every year is to gather a group of football fan in a place to watch the live telecast in the open. Last year was held in South Africa. This year, it will be held in Krabi, Thailand. KY already won a ticket there. For us, we still have chance to book a place there by joining the Star Final contest. You can either be the first to find the location or the one that gets the highest score in the raft racing contest.

Besides the contests, Jasmine also told us that Heineken will be launching an exclusive membership call Heineken ID. Member will get extra goodies in Heineken events and other good stuff. She offered one of us the Heineken ID membership. The one that can pour a perfect pint of Heineken Extra Cold will get the exclusive membership. I did not do very well but at least I'm not the worse. Cindy poured the best pint.

Kenny pouring out foam.

The result of Kenny's pour.

I poured myself a fourth pint of Heineken and it comes out almost perfect.

Practice makes better.

Then of course it's camwhoring time.

Nuffies and Cynthia.

Posing with Audrey's cute little umbrella.

Cindy and I wore black that night.

Mellissa that's in Melbourne now. She's told me the weather's sucks there now.

Robb, I lost when arm wrestled with him.

KY and Huai Bin. No surprise that Huai Bin's here.

Tock Tock and Tim Tim.

Me, KY, ST, Audrey and Timothy.

I won't miss the opportunity to take picture of Kenny with his head shaved.

The bartender then rang the last call bell. Huai Bin and I quickly order ourself a pint or two of Guinness Draught. Yummy.

The freshest Guinness Draught one can find.

KY and Huai Bin had a hard time finding out who's right hand is stronger.

The date is actually re-renovation date. The Tavern is almost as old as the brewery.

After four pints of Heineken and a pint of Guinness Draught, it's time to say goodbye. We all had fun there drinking Heineken and eating the tasty muruku at The Tavern. Too bad The Tavern is by invitation only, so you just can't walk-in just like that. God I missed those tasty draughts.

I was trying to catch a scandalous picture of Tock Tock and Cynthia. Didn't notice that the Guinness Anchor Berhad G.A.B signage was captured so clearly too.

Roasted Goose From Hong Kong

My cousin from Hong Kong, Elaine came to visit Kuala Lumpur with my aunt during Chinese New Year. A week or so before her trip here, she called me and asked me if I needed anything from Hong Kong. I told her to buy me Kay 谢安琪's latest album, Binary and jokingly I told her that I wanted a roasted goose too because I haven't eaten one since when I went to Hong Kong for the first time when I was 6 year old. I fell sick, the second time I visited Hong Kong in 1998 and the third time in 2006, I don't know why I didn't order one lol.

I didn't expect Elaine to really buy a roasted goose for me from Hong Kong. So, when she reached the hotel, she told me that she bought not one but two roasted geese @_@. The roasted geese were just out of the oven at 11 a.m. They reached the hotel around 7 p.m. In the hotel room, we open up the packaging of the one roasted goose and I snitched the left thigh to eat in the room.

It was marvelous. The skin is still crispy and it's so juicy the meat. There's no sign of gamey taste in it too. I would have devour the right thigh too if we don't have to go to a dinner hosted by my relatives after helping my aunt and Elaine unpacking their luggage.

Rating: 5/5

Me enjoying the goose left thigh.

Thanks Elaine for the roasted geese and the CD.

Elaine feels the heat after eating the spicy chicken curry. Which is not spicy at all for Malaysian standard. LOL.
